🏆 WE WON! 🇨🇾🇪🇺

We are proud to announce that SocialTech Lab’s “Social Impact Generator” (@thebasecy) has been named one of the 13 winners of the New European Bauhaus Prizes (NEB) 2026, awarded by the European Commission, earning the title of NEB Champion as Enablers for New European Bauhaus Transformation! 🏆

What started with a repurposed container in Nicosia’s Buffer Zone has grown into an impact innovation space where people from different communities come together, ideas turn into ventures, and entrepreneurship becomes a bridge for collaboration, opportunity and positive peace.

Over the years, that once-unlikely idea has transformed into a thriving ecosystem:
🚀 175+ innovation-related events and programmes delivered
🤝 7,800+ community members engaged
💡 500+ startup teams supported

But beyond the numbers, what matters most to us are the connections we’ve built, the collaborations that have emerged, the opportunities we’ve created together, and the incredible social and environmental impact ventures that have emerged across our island. Some of the biggest change can begin in the most unexpected places.

We’re grateful to all the entrepreneurs, innovators, creatives, mentors, trainers, partners, supporters and community members who have been part of this journey and helped make this possible. 💛

Thank you to the European Commission and @neweuropeanbauhaus for recognising our vision and giving it a European stage.

If you want to see the future of Cyprus entrepreneurship, look at the women building it. 💜

Only 17% of startups in Cyprus have a female founder or co-founder — but the Women Entrepreneurs Lab (WEL) is proving that when women are given the right support, mentorship, and community, they don’t just participate… they thrive. 🚀

Following an inspiring kickoff, with the 2-day bootcamp held on 7–8 March for International Women’s Day, the journey continues with the: 1:1 mentorships, giving each founder personalized guidance to refine strategies, sharpen pitches, and turn bold ideas into action.

A huge thank you to our participants, trainers, and sponsor Chevron for investing in women-led businesses and helping grow a stronger ecosystem in Cyprus.

This programme is designed to empower women-led businesses in Cyprus, strengthening innovation, resilience, and economic inclusion across communities, implemented by CyprusInno (powered by SocialTech Lab) and sponsored by Chevron.

On 27 March, we hosted the “Plan Smarter, Not Harder: Digital Marketing & Ads” workshop in collaboration with @promogoatai at @thebasecy 🧠🚀

Together with early-stage founders and startup teams, we explored how to approach digital advertising more strategically.

Across the session, we focused on key questions every startup should ask before investing in ads:
💡 Is paid advertising the right move at this stage?
📊 What should you test, validate, or refine first?
🧭 How do you turn limited budgets into clear, structured action plans?

A few key takeaways stood out:
🎯 Strategy comes before spend
✔️ Many startups benefit more from positioning and testing than immediate paid campaigns.
🧠 Real challenges, real feedback
✔️ Founders brought their actual problems and received direct input and guidance from expert trainer @andreasanastas , Co-Founder of PromoGoat.
🛠️ Hands-on beats theory
✔️ Using PromoGoat tools, participants built messaging, mapped campaign ideas, and shaped practical marketing strategies in real time.

A big thank you to all founders who joined us and made the session so interactive and insightful. 💛

Showed up late to Pizza & Pitch Night hosted by CyprusInno ( @cyprusinno ) at The Base ( @thebasecy ), and got immediately thrown on stage.
30 seconds. No slides. No mercy.

I’m fairly sure I pitched something, representing Freyia Labs & Fire Alchemy ( @freyialabs & @firealchemyofficial ), involving fermentation, machine learning, FiX, strong vision, urgent delivery, and at least one accidental pivot. Or something like that. Maybe.

Best part, surrounded by brilliant startup people who somehow made it feel normal.

Also keeping the theme consistent by posting this fashionably late instead of in February 😂

What happens when ambitious women entrepreneurs come together in one room?

✨ Ideas grow. Connections spark. Businesses level up.

This International Women’s Day, we celebrated with action, launching the Women Entrepreneurs Lab (WEL) with an inspiring 2-day bootcamp on 7–8 March at @thebasecy 💜

Over two powerful days, a cohort of talented women founders came together to learn, collaborate, and strengthen the foundations of their businesses as they prepare to scale.

From business strategy and finance to branding, leadership, and pitch training, participants worked alongside experienced founders and industry experts to refine their ideas and unlock their next stage of growth.

But the most powerful part?
The energy in the room.
Women sharing ideas.
Founders supporting one another.
New collaborations forming.
And bold visions for the future taking shape. 🚀

A special thank you to our sponsor @chevron Cyprus for supporting this initiative and helping make the programme possible. We were honoured to open the bootcamp with inspiring remarks from Melina Demetriou, Cyprus Finance Manager at Chevron, who set the tone for an empowering and impactful programme.

And of course, a heartfelt thank you to our incredible participants and trainers for bringing your knowledge, openness, and ambition to this experience. You made this kickoff truly unforgettable.

👀 Stay tuned for more stories from this inspiring community of women entrepreneurs.

This programme is designed to empower women-led businesses in Cyprus, strengthening innovation, resilience, and economic inclusion across communities, implemented by CyprusInno (powered by SocialTech Lab) and sponsored by Chevron.
