If you want to see the future of Cyprus entrepreneurship, look at the women building it. 💜

Only 17% of startups in Cyprus have a female founder or co-founder — but the Women Entrepreneurs Lab (WEL) is proving that when women are given the right support, mentorship, and community, they don’t just participate… they thrive. 🚀

Following an inspiring kickoff, with the 2-day bootcamp held on 7–8 March for International Women’s Day, the journey continues with the: 1:1 mentorships, giving each founder personalized guidance to refine strategies, sharpen pitches, and turn bold ideas into action.

On 27 March, we hosted the “Plan Smarter, Not Harder: Digital Marketing & Ads” workshop in collaboration with @promogoatai at @thebasecy 🧠🚀

Together with early-stage founders and startup teams, we explored how to approach digital advertising more strategically.

Across the session, we focused on key questions every startup should ask before investing in ads:
💡 Is paid advertising the right move at this stage?
📊 What should you test, validate, or refine first?
🧭 How do you turn limited budgets into clear, structured action plans?

A few key takeaways stood out:
🎯 Strategy comes before spend
✔️ Many startups benefit more from positioning and testing than immediate paid campaigns.
🧠 Real challenges, real feedback
✔️ Founders brought their actual problems and received direct input and guidance from expert trainer @andreasanastas , Co-Founder of PromoGoat.
🛠️ Hands-on beats theory

What happens when ambitious women entrepreneurs come together in one room?

This International Women’s Day, we celebrated with action, launching the Women Entrepreneurs Lab (WEL) with an inspiring 2-day bootcamp on 7–8 March at @thebasecy 💜

Over two powerful days, a cohort of talented women founders came together to learn, collaborate, and strengthen the foundations of their businesses as they prepare to scale.

From business strategy and finance to branding, leadership, and pitch training, participants worked alongside experienced founders and industry experts to refine their ideas and unlock their next stage of growth.

But the most powerful part?
The energy in the room.
Women sharing ideas.
Founders supporting one another.
New collaborations forming.

Last week, on 29 January, we had the pleasure of hosting 15 inspiring Master’s students from the Peace and Conflict Studies programme @stv_peaceconflict_uibk at the University of Innsbruck (@uniinnsbruck) at @thebasecy ✨

We shared insights into @socialtechlab work on positive peacebuilding, highlighting our initiatives CyprusInno and The Base by CyprusInno, and exchanged perspectives on how innovation, entrepreneurship, technology, collaboration, and inclusive ecosystems can contribute to more peaceful societies.

🎯 At SocialTech Lab, 2025 was about building things that last.

From Cyprus to the wider regional ecosystem, we focused on strengthening the systems that make innovation, collaboration, and positive peace possible over time - across both communities and sectors.

🎞️ We are grateful to share our 2025 Annual Impact Report and Yearly Recap Video looking back on a year of growth, learning, and transition. Together, we delivered 30+ programmes, engaged 1,200+ beneficiaries, supported 120+ startup teams regionally, and deepened our European engagement through initiatives such as UNDP BOOST, NEB Grow, Y-PLAN, and the NEBA South Hub.

🌱 This year marked a clear shift - from moments to platforms, from individual actions to scalable systems, and from short-term support to long-term ecosystem infrastructure. Across impact areas such as youth-led urban innovation, women in entrepreneurship, agrifood, and peace innovation, one thing became clear - meaningful change happens when people and institutions build together.

🫶 None of this happens in isolation. To our partners, experts, funders, alumni, and collaborators - thank you for trusting this process and shaping this journey with us. As 2026 unfolds, we’re already activating new initiatives and turning the momentum we’ve built since 2016 into lasting impact for the future.
