This is what our puppies can do after 4 weeks of training! 🤍

This boy just graduated from Puppy Kindergarten, and here he is practicing a long down stay. Watching him stay focused and settled while life happens around him makes me so proud!

Our 4-week program gives puppies time to practice their skills in real life, and I love showing you what they’re capable of. Just look at him go!

At Windsong, we’re not only breeders. Training is half of what we do!

Our 9 week Head Start puppy training program is about so much more than teaching a puppy to sit or walk nicely on a leash. We are building the skills that make everyday life together easier.

Here, this puppy is learning to hold place for an extended period while her trainer moves around, opens packages and works nearby. Nothing exciting is happening, and that is exactly the point. She is learning that she doesn’t need to follow every movement, investigate everything or constantly be entertained. She can simply settle and stay where she was asked.

Throughout the program, our puppies work on crate and potty training, leash skills, place, public outings, car rides, household manners and neutrality around the busy world happening around them.

We’re not raising puppies who only know commands. We’re helping build well-trained companions who can truly become part of their family’s life. 🤍

Every confident walk starts with the basics. 🐾

Princess Poppy is mastering leash skills in a calm, controlled environment before she takes on the public streets next month. Building confidence first makes every new adventure a little easier. 💛

🇺🇸 While the neighborhood celebrates, Poppy is learning one of life’s most valuable skills: staying calm.

Kids riding bikes and scooters, people walking by, wiffle balls flying, random fireworks in the distance and she’s taking it all in without a worry. These positive, controlled experiences help build the confident, stable temperament every family hopes for.

We’re so proud of this smart little girl. ❤️🐾

The best recall isn’t built in a quiet room it’s built when distractions are everywhere. 🐾

If your puppy will come when called in the middle of play, you’ve built a skill that could one day save their life.

That’s why we practice recall in real-world situations, even when another Golden Retriever, toys, or excitement are competing for their attention.

It’s one of the many life skills we focus on in our 2 and 4 week training programs, because confidence and reliability are built one successful repetition at a time.

A belly scratch a day keeps the weekday scaries away 🤣🤍

Bo wrapped up his two weeks of training the same way he approached every day happy, confident, and ready for a little extra love.

I’d say those belly rubs were well earned 🐾

Two weeks can make a big difference 🐾🤍

Today Daisy heads home after completing her 2-week training program.

In just 14 days, she’s learned sit, down, place, free, name recognition, and has done an amazing job with crate training and potty training.

More importantly, she’s built confidence, learned how to learn, and is ready to continue growing with her family.

We’re so proud of you, Daisy. Have the best life with your family 🤍

Recall isn’t just practiced in quiet moments 🐾

Bo is learning that even when there’s a ball to chase and fun to be had, coming when called is still the best choice.

Building recall through play helps create a stronger connection, better focus, and a puppy that’s excited to check back in with their person.

Way to go, Bo 🤍

Day 6 of training and Sailor is already showing off 🐾🤍

Working on recall, name recognition, sit, and even a little retrieving—all while having fun and building confidence along the way.

It’s amazing what these puppies can learn when training is built around play, consistency, and positive experiences.

Way to go, Sailor ✨

if your puppy can only relax when life is quiet… that won’t hold up for long

real life is loud
kids, schedules, movement, distractions

we don’t avoid that… we build dogs that can handle it

this is a big piece of how we do it

follow along if you want to see the process 👀

Puppies are the fun part.
But this part is crucial to keeping everyone healthy and everything running smoothly.

Keeping their space clean is a daily, constant job and it directly impacts the whole program.

There’s no skipping it.
