NO SWEAT THIS SCHOOL YEAR.💧🎒🚸📚

Our 3rd Annual Back-to-School Fest is next Saturday—and we’re ready to welcome our community in.

Thanks to Serra Chevrolet of Sterling Heights, we met our goal of 500 backpacks to support students across our community as they step into a new school year.

Join us for a day of connection, community conversations, and real presence for real impact.

Explore the Community Closet, filled with pre-loved and new clothing offered from one neighbor to another, with selections ranging from infant to adult sizes—all available at no cost.

Get a first taste of what’s to come through Opportunity Café: Opportunity Roasters + City Meals, and spend the day connecting with people and resources showing up for our community.

And a reminder: not tomorrow—NEXT Saturday 📲🗓️🔔

Located at Durfee Innovation Society: 2470 Collingwood St, Detroit, MI 48206 onSaturday, August 22 from 11 AM–2 PM.

Come as you are. Take what you need. Connect with what we’re building here.

Our Community Closet returns at our 3rd Annual Back-to-School Fest.

Scroll to learn how to shop, how to support, and revisit moments from our Winter Community Closet.

Now through Wednesday, August 19, we’re collecting new and gently used clothing, shoes, games, and toys to share with families ahead of this year’s event.

Donations can be dropped off Monday through Thursday, 4–8 PM, at our home inside Durfee Innovation Society, 2470 Collingwood St., Detroit, MI 48206.

Please ensure all donated items are clean, in good, wearable condition, and ready to be shared. We are unable to accept soiled items.

Thank you for helping us prepare a Community Closet that families can shop with confidence and care.

Last week’s “Break it up” event held at the Durfee Innovation Society. Events like this are possible because of strong community partnerships. With support from the Detroit Public Safety Foundation, this initiative is creating safe, engaging spaces for Detroit youth to connect, grow, and be heard. | 🎥: @jaybellproductions

#TBT It feels good to do this for my community because I grew up in one of the worst hoods in Detroit. No matter how things were back then or how it is now, I always had love in my heart for those around me and in my city. Especially for the youth because I’m thankful for those who came before me with this same mindset. I love to give back to my people anyway I can.
