On behalf of The Better Men Outreach Program, we would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Tiffany Chenault, LMSW, Program Manager of Gilda’s Club Metro Detroit. Today, Tiffany presented an educational workshop for our young men titled “Man Up About Cancer,” focusing on the different types of cancer that affect them.

Learning about these health risks is uniquely critical for Black men, who face the highest cancer incidence and mortality rates of any racial or ethnic group in the United States. According to the American Cancer Society (ACS), Black men experience stark health disparities, including a cancer death rate that is twice as high as that of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. Understanding these specific risks empowers our young men to take control of their health through early detection, lifestyle changes, and proactive medical advocacy.Thank you once again, Tiffany, for sharing your expertise and helping our community stay informed and aware!
