🇬🇧At the previous GA, a new Member of Merit was welcomed. Although this was already voted in the GA before, LVS managed to keep the secret, until José could receive his certificate, speech and flowers, the traditional way. After several years in council and limitless efforts as a board member, the award was long overdue! Congratulations José 💐 🥂

🇳🇱 We hadden het beloofd: de behind the scenes van de bestuursfoto, waarbij het bestuur even iets minder serieus kijkt. LVS houdt immer woord, dus voilá: the making of!

🇬🇧 We promised: the behind the scenes of the official board picture, where the board members look a whole lot less serious. LVS keeps their promises, so here we are: the making of!

🇬🇧LVS is for all students, and because of that, our councilors regularly address issues that affect certain groups of students in a negative way. That is possible, and while we often take that for granted, many others can’t speak up without having to fear for their safety.

That’s why today, two of our members travelled to Arnhem to join Amnesty International in their yearly event to write for freedom. They wrote letters on behalf of five activists who are currently detained, and/or on trial for standing up for their rights, and those of others.

They’ve learned a lot about these people and their causes.

Yesterday, Tristan and Natascha ran a 5k to raise money in support of clean water access for the people of Madagascar! 🇲🇬

Madagascar was selected as the location for this year’s UNICEF project. This island is one of the hardest hit by climate change and 78% of the population live in poverty. On average, Madagascans must walk 5km to access clean water.

Thank you to @unicefstudentsthehague for organising this event and raising awareness about such an important issue. And thanks to our runners for their effort, helping to make an impact in Madagascan communities. 💙💙💙

Afgelopen weekend vierde LVS onze 16e Diës Natalis!

Last weekend, LVS celebrated our 16th Diës Natalis! It was a great opportunity for the LVS family, both alumni and current members, to get to know each other better and look back at our history as a a party. Thanks to everyone who joined us for our celebratory activities, whether it was the visit to the Prison Gate Museum in The Hague, to our dinner at La Bota in Leiden. And a special thanks to everyone in the Reunionists Committee who organised this year’s Diës!
