I’m sorry to say that unfortunately I can’t begin and run the Markdale Farmers Market this year due to my Cushing’s Disease.
In December 2024, I was diagnosed with the disease and had a benign brain tumour removed in February 2025. Cushing’s is a rare disease that affects your hormones along with other side effects. I still have a benign tumour on both of my adrenal glands which are being monitored. Recovery is gruelling considering what imbalanced hormones can do to you mentally and physically.
I’m going to concentrate on my @thebuddingflowerfarm #thebuddingflowerfarm for now and see what the next year is like for me.❤️‍🩹
Thank you very much for understanding and I hope to see vendors and friends at markets I visit.

The seed had been planted in my mind to start a cut flower farm for several years now. The acquisition of 880 Dahlia tubers in 5 colours brought that dream to fruition in May of this year.

It was my seedlings first day outside for a bit of sun, a breeze and fresh air. Several more days of hardening off and they will be leaving home for the summer and off to experience a big world. 🌱

When the dyer is also an avid gardener.
As some of you know, I started a cut flower farm in the spring of last year. This year I will be adding more varieties of flowers, herbs and vegetables to the garden.🌹

As some of you already know, I started a cut flower farm in May of this year. I had been wanting to do this for several years and an opportunity presented itself in the spring that I couldn’t pass up. So about 880 Dahlia tubers arrived for planting. I added a number of annuals to the gardens and The Budding Flower Farm came to fruition. 💐
