I had some Thanksgiving fun and decorated a local stump on Sideroad 60 west of Berkeley. Some country community fun!🍂

With autumn here in Grey County it’s time to concentrate on my orchids and tropical plants a bit more.

This is EPC. Kyguchi AM x GCT. Keepsake that I purchased from @crystalstarnursery several years ago. It has continuously produced these lovely flowers for us with a nice fragrance.

The Narrow Leaf Hosta aka Hosta lancifolia out did itself this year. Talk about florifurus! 😁
This is one of about 40 varieties of Hosta that I grow on the farm.

While sitting on the deck, repotting Hoyas and orchids last evening I was graced by the presence of at least seven Ruby Throated Hummingbirds. I’m quite sure there were young there from several clutches. We get a minimum of two pair visiting us annually. My favourite species of bird.

Nasturtiums are a favourite of mine in several ways. They are pleasing to the eye and taste buds and also help with pest control in the garden if necessary.

The flower of the Speckled Swan gourd (Lagenaria siceraria) also known as a Bottle gourd.
My sister-in-law Yolanda gifted me the seeds in the spring and we had our first flower yesterday. It looks very tropical to me.

The main frame of my 10’ x 30’ grow house is up and in position. Now, I can start planning gardens around it. Still some cleanup of weeds and levelling to be done. With the Cushing’s disease, my stamina and energy can be limited at times. Happy that I got this accomplished on my own. 😊
