As a Texas businessman, U.S. Army veteran, and father who has built a veteran-owned company in logistics and security, I believe we must protect what makes Texas strong — our families and traditional values.

Increasing the marriage license fee isn’t just another tax. It’s a proactive investment that creates a self-sustaining Texas Family Stability Fund (or, on a national level, the Trump Family Protection Fund).
Here’s how it works as practical insurance for our families:

• Couples pay a modestly higher fee when getting married.
• That money flows into a dedicated fund.
• The funds can be invested just like the Trump Accounts, growing responsibly in safe markets over time.
• The returns are then used to cover holistic family proceedings — counseling, mediation, legal support, and custody stability programs — helping families navigate challenges before they become costly divorces or crises.

This is sound business thinking applied to what matters most. Just like any successful company sets aside reserves and invests for the future, we can build a fund that strengthens marriages, reduces long-term court and social service burdens, and protects children. Strong families mean stronger communities, a stronger workforce, and a stronger economy.

We don’t need more government spending — we need smart, self-funding solutions rooted in personal responsibility and American values.

President Donald J. Trump (@potus ) / The White House (@whitehouse )— this is a winning idea that aligns with pro-family, pro-growth principles.

What do you think? Should Texas and the nation lead with this common-sense approach?
