POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Hi friends! Happy friday. I can't believe it's one week to Halloween already. Didn't October just start?

It's a pumpkin stack! I know i was tagged, but I forgot to check who before I started this. Thank you for the tag though!

Are you a big pumpkin hunter? Do you have particular qualifications for your pumpkin? Tall? Round? Warty? White? Orange? I love a good twisty stem if I can find one and manage to get it home whole. 🤣

Or what's been your favorite read of October so far? Any spooky reads you want to finish before the end of the month?

Which book series did you love as a teenager? I loved The House of Night series and I was reunited with them when I stayed at a friends last week. Yes I keep books at a friends house, judge away 😆. The friend I was staying with also loved this series so it feels appropriate. I'm not going to read them as an adult because I don't want to ruin my love for them.
📚
@vampsreads the queen of stacks tagged me for a spiral stack so now I am tagging all of you!

Hi friends! Happy Wednesday! Initially, I was going to post my September wrapup, but there's a chance I crush Knave and the Moon tonight if I can get my sht together. Sorry to my howling dark br, but my mood reading struck in force with @serpentsintheshelves crying in dms over Knave. Yes, there probably is some fcked up sht wrong with me that listening to someone cry makes me want to read the book. I'm in therapy, ok?

So, a big blue/green stack instead. Did I need all 10 shots? Probably not, but I loved them all. Plus then you have to pick between sun out and sun behind clouds and while I prefer the moodier ones, I do still like the others. Are we all moody gremlins, or does anyone prefer the sun out shots?

Are you all wrapped up with September reading, or are you too trying to crush something tonight? Or what are you carrying over into October?

Orrr, what's your favorite color? Red and black has my combo heart, but an amalgamation of blue/green/gray is my solo color love. Which isn't really a solo color, but hopefully, you can picture what I mean.

Hi friends! Happy #favoritefriday . I don't love that IG didn't want me to post earlier today, but I do love this book. I love Katherine Arden's writing. I love historical fantasy. I love yearning. I love folklore. I love this @goldsborobooks edition. I love how these photos turned out because I love moss and birch trees.

It's been a hot minute, but this book is ripe for a 1 book, 3 quotes challenge.

📚 Louis had seen renderings of unicorns, of course. Deer-headed, goat-footed, a lion's tail, a curling mane. But a drawing could not capture this. A tapestry could not render it. A stillness louder than cries of wonder fell over the group. The unicorn walked as though in a summer's day, with the light pouring through the horn, though there was only moonlight. Though it was dark, the white of her coat seemed to carry faint color, a trace of pink, lavender, green. An absent sun glowed on her skin.

📚 The courage of the body— the courage of a tree-climbing child or a hunter coursing neck-or-nothing after a stag— had never been Anne’s. Isabeau had always been bolder in that way. When she was old enough, perhaps she would pursue the stag from the front of the galloping pack, heedless of danger, reveling in her speed and skill.
Anne preferred facing dangers that could be bested with the mind alone.
But some courage is born of wild necessity.

📚 "I will not let anything happen to you."
It was a promise he could not be sure of keeping. Even if this between them was love, the thing poets described, it could not stop armies or fate or the capricious will of God. And yet she let herself be comforted by it.

Have you read this one? It seems to be love or hate, but Katherine Arden just works for me.

Or anything you're trying to finish up this weekend before September ends?

Hi friends! Happy sunday with a #septemberstack

I feel like everyone has been on their monthly game this month, so thanks to everyone for the tags.

How has September been for you so far? Reading or life was?

Reading: I'm still in a Dead Beat hangover. Nothing since has sparked the spark.

Watching: Football on the weekends. Supernatural or New Girl during the week, depending on my mood. Both are rewatches.

Listening: Macklemore and the new In This Moment cd

Life is... fine? Work is busy. It's my husband's 40th this week, so this weekend and next are birthday things. I also went to a BK Borison signing last friday, and omg, she was hilarious and personable.

Anyone have anything fun coming up?

Also tagging for a September stack. Sorry if I tag you and you've already done it.

Hi friends! Happy #wolfwednesday featuring Khanniewanniepoo himself. Oh, plus a stack of blue paperbacks. 🤭

Do you ever come up with ridiculous nicknames for your pets? Apollo has gone to Pollo to Pojo to Pojie to Pojie Bear and now just Bear a lot 🤣 which is funny to me because I wanted to name him Beren (from Tolkien) but he didnt look like a Beren. And now he's become Bear (Ber) anyway.

Or have you read any of these? A bit of an eclectic mix of mostly older stuff. Trying to remember to show off paperbacks more. I think there's a weird stigma you have to have the latest special editions to be a bookstagram account, which is just silly. Some of my favorite editions I would save from a fire are my old paperbacks.

Hi friends! I asked Gitche Gumee (Lake Superior), and she said it's still Ontari'io (Lake Ontario).

I feel like it's been too long since I've made a post like this, so in case you're wondering, this account is:

Pro choice
Pro love 🌈
Pro science
Free 🇵🇸
🖕 Trump
Eat the rich
Protect 🏳️‍⚧️

Climate change is real
🚫AI
No one is illegal on stolen land

Oh, and BOOKS ARE POLITICAL.

I'm probably missing a bunch, but I think you get the sentiment. If you have a problem with any of these, feel free to unfollow me and remove me as a follower. I mean, you won't because a follower count means more to you than people's lives but worth a shot.

Tell me your favorite LGBTQIA+ book or dystopia I should pick up. Or nonfiction along these sentiments.

Hi friends! Happy late posting from me. I stayed up late, slept in basically until work, and then have been slammed all day.

But anyway, Happy international dog day! Annnnnd, it falls on #wolfwednesday ?! Of course, I couldn't not post today at all.

Meet my ride or dies, my reasons to get out of bed, the loml, my boys Apollo and Khan. Yes, they're both full German shepherds. No black is not rare in working line German shepherds. No, they're not wolves or direwolves or mixed with lab. 🙄

Swipe for some pictures from vacation. I did actually get to see a real wolf while we were in MN, but alas, no photos. He was trotting down the highway at night. I tried to brake and go back, but he hightailed it when I did. Poor guy didn't know there's nothing better than being the pet of an introverted woman. 🤭

Do you have pets? Tell me about them. Or if I already know, give them a boop and tell them Auntie loves them.

Orrrr tell me your favorite animal companions in books? Ooorrrr since I ask that a lot, what animal would you like to see as an animal companion?

Hi friends! Happy #favoritefriday Now that I've convinced a bunch of you to give Lions of Al-Rassan a chance, I'm back with another Guy Gavriel Kay book; A Brightness Long Ago.

Yes, yes, the cover is crap but it's honestly a wonderful historical fantasy set amongst Italian city states. It follows Danio Cerra looking back at his youth, how one moment can change everything, and how people move in and out of our lives. For Danio, that person is Adria Ripoli, a woman choosing danger and freedom over comforts, but there's also a bunch of other delightful side characters.

📚 We like to believe, or pretend, we know what we are doing in our lives. It can be a lie. Winds blow, waves carry us, rain drenches a man caught in the open at night, lightning shatters the sky and sometimes his heart, thunder crashes into him bringing the awareness he will die. We stand up, as best we can under that. We move forward as best we can, hoping for light, kindness, mercy, for ourselves and those we love.

📚 The sailors say the rain misses the cloud even as it falls through light or dark into the sea. I miss her like that as I fall through my life, through time, the chaos of our time. I dream she is alive even now, but there is nothing to give weight or value to that, it is only me, and what I want to be true. It is only longing. We can want things so much sometimes. It is the way we are.

📚 Perhaps in the darkest times all we can do is refuse to be part of the darkness.

📚 She’d been afraid, preparing herself, after the summons came to the farmhouse—but fear was something you mastered, not a thing that defined you.

📚 Perhaps as often as we dream of things we wish might come to be, we dream of what we wish had been otherwise. We are carried forward through time, but our minds take us back.

Have I convinced you yet?

Orrr what's everyone up to this weekend? What's your current read?

Tagging people for 1 book, 3 quotes even if I gave 5 🤭
