We’ve impacted 150 future makers through books! Thanks to the partnership between @futuremakersfn and @nationalhousingtrust our young people were educated on the plethora of careers in the creative industry. NHT also made a donation of 60 books to the school’s library at Rousseau Primary.

So grateful to have spent the day at Orange Park in the hills of Yallahs, St. Thomas, Jamaica, as part of The Barrington Watson Residency @rcablk Open Studios.

Home, studio and final resting place of renowned Jamaican artist Barrington Watson, Orange Park now also serves as the home of the residency - a really beautiful initiative, especially considering that Watson was the first Black student at the Royal College of Art.

The 2026 cohort of artists-in-residence @xavierlaurentleopold @roach0000000 generously walked us through the grounds, sharing the themes and insights behind their work. Absolutely loved seeing the pieces they were able to create during the residency and hearing how their environment - especially the resources and materials available on the estate - influenced and informed their practices.

Mrs. Doreen Watson, Barrington Watson’s widow, also kindly gave a tour of his home and studio.

Such a special day! So wonderful meeting everyone there, and special thank you to Artist, Chair and Co Founder of RCA BLK @emily.moore7 and artists-in-residence @xavierlaurentleopold @roach0000000 for sharing their work and stories with us!

PREE Writing Studio is a 4-day residential Writing Studio bringing together acclaimed writers, literary professionals, and emerging writers for an immersive learning experience in Kingston, Jamaica at the University of the West Indies, Mona.

All together now! 🤩 I’m happy to finally be able to share design work for the complete emerging Caribbean writers chapbook series for Peekash Press: Seven wee books in all, rolled out in three batches since I first began the project at the start of 2024.

My book design practice centres around art/design/illustrated books, so Peekash remains an outlier – they are still the only publisher of literary works on my design client roster. The chapbooks were a long yet short, serious yet seriously fun project that I delighted in at every step – from developing a simple template for the 16- and 20-page interiors to playing with theme and colour on the covers. The result is a series that celebrates vibrancy along with our commonalities and uniqueness. I particularly love that the series connected me, either for the first time or with greater intentionality, to writers whose work I admire 🖤
