Beyond the Brambles is my Caribbean folkore inspired fantasy about a young woman trying to save her sister along with a cranky old obeal woman who could be part of the Golden Girls. Lots of cat sass 🐈‍⬛

I’m just a cat-loving writer who reads too much and wants to read your manuscript and help make it better. 📚🖋️

As a writer, I spent far too long hoarding my work like Gollum and the Ring 💍. My writing & storytelling skills improved so much when I actually had someone else read and give me feedback. Who’d have thought?

If you've been working on a manuscript and want to take it to the next level, my manuscript critique services might be just what you need.

I’ll give you thorough, thoughtful feedback on plot, character, dialogue, and more in an assessment letter, in-line comments throughout your manuscript along with my reactions as a reader. 👀

It’s a great way to get feedback that can make a huge difference to your story without chasing family and friends around for months, and far less costly than a developmental edit.

Writing a book is hard as hell but you don’t have to go it totally alone.

Oh Scrivener, I haven't figured out all your bells and whistles yet, but I do love the snapshots feature. If you draft in Scrivener you can take a snapshot of your text with a quick click and it'll be saved as is, so you can go ahead and edit in peace without losing the old version.

No cute writing set up over here, just a tiny desk and lots of cat hair. A day in my life as an agented writer working on my next project.

Starting off my 2026 reading (and trying to get through my ridiculously unwieldy TBR) with two debut novels!

Local Heavens - a cyberpunk retelling of The Great Gatsby

Black Salt Queen (by my agent sibling @sam_bansil!) - a precolonial Philippines–inspired fantasy

Allow me to introduce my editorial director, who is overseeing the current garbage zero draft of my next writing project. When she's not studiously sleeping in her chair next to me, she's biting said chair and slacking on giving editorial advice.

I haven't been this excited since the last time I was this excited. I've been craving physical books lately. I love my Kindle, it's easy to fling in my bag and I have access to more titles than I do locally (cries in fantasy). But I miss books that I can touch and that I own not pay for a license to access. Now I just need to find somewhere to put them...

I finally have a desk! She folds up because I have no space for a full desk set up, but she's cute and makes me feel like I finally have a dedicated writing space for my cats to bully me from 🥹

Tagging along with all the fun first lines I've seen on #1stLinePit!

Beyond the Brambles is my #Caribbean folklore inspired YA/crossover fantasy about a young woman out to save her sister.

It's got all the things I love. Curses, creepy forests, found family, a cranky old woman mentor, and a cat companion 🐈‍⬛
