From the gothic shadows of Brussels to the cinematic energy of Los Angeles, visual artist @alessia_bortsova explores the tension between classical beauty and the haunting textures of the grotesque 🪲🪱✨

With more than a decade in the visual industry, her work draws from medieval and Art Nouveau architecture, the atmospheric depth of 19th-century literature, and the haunting echoes of the Brontë sisters and gothic horror. After studying Languages and Intercultural Communication and later film at UCLA, her experience at the Hammer Museum strengthened a belief that still guides her practice: the artist’s intention is the true anchor of any medium.
