More than 7000 rare diseases exist. Less than 5% have treatment. She lives in the 95%.

Unnamed.
Untreated.
Unbroken.

Most rare diseases are invisible. You would not know by looking at her. That is the cruelest kind of alone… to carry something no one can see…

Rare does not mean less. It means one of a kind. Always has. ✨

In my own mind's vast expanse
I sought to plant my feet, to take a stance.

Amidst the swirling mists of thought's ballet,
I found no earth, no ground where I could stay.

The more I reached for solid, steadfast land,
The more I felt the slipping of fine sand
A spectral dance of hours and fleeting light
Left me adrift in day's retreat to night.

No anchor held, no roots that gripped the core
Just echoes of the silence I abhor.

Afloat in the abyss of time's cruel sea
The tether to myself eluded me.

In pastel skies, I searched for rainbows' end,
For colours bright, on which my soul depends
Yet, in the mist, all hues dissolved away,
A monochrome palette held its sway.

The clock's cold hands, they tick with no remorse
A metronome to time's unyielding course
fear the rush, the ceaseless, silent creep
Of moments lost to time's eternal sweep
So here I stand, or float, or merely be,
A spectre of the self I used to see.

In trying to ground, l've learned the art of flight,
A weightless wisp, adrift in endless night.
