THIS MONTH IS PERSONALLY VERY DIFFICULT FOR ME BEING FORCED TO LEARN THE NARRATIVE OF THE COLONIZERS WHO TRIED TO ERASE MY PEOPLE & MY CULTURE!
.
I ALWAYS TRY TO HOLD SPACE FOR MY INDIGENOUS RELATIVES BUT I POUR MY HEART & SOUL INTO THE WORK AND THAT MEANS THE MAJORITY OF THE TIME ITS BASED ON MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCES. MY TRAUMA. MY STORIES AND POINTS OF VIEW. THIS IS VERY MUCH HOW MOST INDIGENOUS FOLKS DEAL WITH DAILY LIFE
.
IT’S TRAUMATIC BUT IT HAS TO BE DONE. UNTIL INDIGENOUS PEOPLE ARE FULLY SEEN & ACCEPTED IN OUR SOCIETY & RECEIVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE WE DESERVE - WE WILL CONTINUE ✊🏽
AS LONG AS INDIGENOUS PEOPLE ARE PERCEIVED AS INVISIBLE.
.
I CHALLENGE YOU TO BE BETTER, INDIGENOUS OR NON INDIGENOUS RELATIVES,
FOR YOU TO LOOK DEEPER WHEN REMEMBERING, THAT THIS IS INDIGENOUS LAND! HONOR THE ORIGINAL STEWARDS OF THAT LAND BY PUTTING OUR REPRESENTATION TO THE FRONT!
.
I WORK HARD FOR VISIBILITY, TO BE INCLUDED, AND RESPECTED FOR MYSELF AND MY MUTUAL AID WORK
YEAR ROUND!!!!!!!
