Sarah shares her experience being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at 19, how relapses work, what MS actually does to the nervous system, and how treatment, fear, and uncertainty have shaped her adulthood and parenting.
Megan opens up about losing her leg in a lawnmower accident just one week after her wedding, the trauma of the injury, the reality of relearning how to walk with a prosthetic, and the anger, grief, and resilience that followed.
Together, they discuss the role of dark humour in surviving hard seasons, how identity shifts after medical trauma, what it means to rebuild a sense of purpose, and why life is never about what happens to you—but how you respond when everything falls apart.

This week has been one I’ll never forget as long as I live!

Some people come into your life and change it forever. @masonsawyer91 is one of those people. 💙

I’ve listened to his podcast, @10ninetyrule , for as long as I can remember — his vulnerability, his strength, his faith in healing has always inspired me.

Mason lost his wife, son, daughter, brother and nephew in a car accident in 2021. One child survived. I have no words to add to this. There really aren’t any words… 😢

When I reached out to him, hoping he might come on our podcast @thechronicallyunbalanced he said he would do one better than zoom. He actually came to Australia. 🤩

He, his beautiful partner Sami, and his son Blue stayed with my family for a few days… and it was so nothing short of amazing.

We recorded in the studio… did the whole tourist thing…BUT something way better happened… we formed an incredible friendship that I never saw coming but now can’t imagine living without.

Mason has walked through more pain than most of us could even fathom. More than anyone I know. To be fair, at times it’s too hard to even think about and comprehend everything that has happened in his world.

He has lived loss — unimaginable loss — and yet, he still shows up.

He shares his story not just to heal himself, but to light the way for others.

Mase, Sami and Blue. You’ve taken part of my heart back to Utah with you and I cannot wait to celebrate a white Christmas with you soon.

I love you all so much. My family is yours forever x
