9. Nine blocks in the mailbox this morning and here I thought it was slowing down! One from Canada, one from Maine, another from Florida, Michigan, Oregon, South Carolina, several from California… and one in Spanish! Each one amazing on their own, thank you! (I hope I got all the tagging right.)

Another rosette done for my inspired by a Netherlands antique quilt and a second one started with the fabric from @grassrootsquilting who inspired me along with @vintagegreyhandmade to make a quilt like this. Sharon sent this little piece with a log cabin/house and I knew it had to be a centers. Now I want to look for fun motifs to put in the center! Both of these blocks are special since most of the fabrics were sent to me by friends. Most of my browns are dark in my collection which is great for the trail . This quilt has taught me I need to buy more of a variety of the same color, watch the value of colors in other words instead of what your drawn too. Also learned to stop overthinking fabric choices for the petals! Adding thimbles/tumblers as I cut more hexagons. #inspiredbyantiquequilts #brownquilts #epp #englishpaperpiecing #quiltfriendsarethebest

Adding the next round for my reproduction of an antique quilt from the Netherlands. Crazy how much time I spend on choosing the right “petals” when it will be fine in the overall quilt! Right? #inspiredbyantiquequilts #brownquilt #englishpaperpiecing #epp #justkeepquilting

Yes this is yet another hexagon quilt I am working on along with @grassrootsquilting and inspired by @vintagegreyhandmade It’s based on /inspired by a Dutch antique quilt. When I started pulling browns I realized I mostly had dark browns. And this quilt has a lot of medium browns…. So lucky for me a friend offered to send me some browns asking what do you need???? Wow I thought i would just improvise use what I had and what @grassrootsquilting and I swapped. Still mine would not be like the original darker moody I would add in shirtings until @theconstantquilter Wendy generously offered to send me some . I was so thrilled with what she sent now my version of this antique will be more moody/blend more like the original but still making it my own , again so many thanks go to Wendy for offering you definitely have enabled me now to make the quilt how I really wanted to, as we all know unfortunately shopping for these older great reproduction fabrics is not easy. So here is my take away keep buying reproduction fabrics so they keep printing what we love. I will admit to being in a brown phase so I am loving the antique look of these hexagons on the other side I still love my bright happy fabric hexagons as well! #quiltersaresogenerous #quiltingfriendsarethebest #brownandwhitequilt #inspiredbyantiquequilts #englishpaperpiecing

To honor my friend, @theconstantquilter I chose her quilt as my Study Quilt inspiration. She has been making and designing quilts since the 1970s. It did not get chosen to travel which was heartbreaking for me. Wendy is such a fabulous original quilt designer.
I have gifted this quilt to her family. Thank you, Wendy, for allowing me to study and recreate one of your masterpieces. ❤️ #quilts #handquilting #cheddarquilts #aqsgportland2025 #aqsg
