🚨 ONE SPOT LEFT! 🚨I am currently looking for a handful of clients who are interested in working with me on a new project. I found this gorgeous Eternal Garden tarot deck recently and have been feeling inspired!

Here’s my pitch: Book a consult with me, we’ll pull your cards and let them inspire a custom tattoo. We can pull as many or as few cards as you like and discuss your tattoo preferences in depth. Then we’ll book a tattoo appointment and I’ll draw a custom piece based on your spread.

For a limited time I will be offering 25% off these tattoo sessions as I test out the format. Follow the link in my bio or send me a DM to book a consultation!

The word gossamer ("goose summer") used to be a noun referring to a period of mild weather in late autumn or early winter, and now is used as an adjective to describe delicate things that float through the air. Moths, mist, light, leaves, feathers, spider webs, the veil between realms, the presence of a departed loved one... all the most subtle exquisite things I love about this time of year make me feel close and connected to the mysteries.

'Gossamer' is one of my favorite paintings from the Emanations Collection because it evokes all of the subtle beauty of the season for me. The glittering magdalena moth featured is a very tiny creature found in North America with a wingspan of only 10 mm that graces the air from August to April ✨

I've been eating apples stewed with cinnamon and cloves in the morning lately and it has been such a delicious breakfast treat! This apple codling moth also loves apples. I spent a lot of time reflecting on our shared appetites as I painted this piece I named 'Not Ours Alone.'

I was initially captivated by the spectacular fringe on these agricultural 'pest' moths, but my interest grew when I thought about how very similar we are. Even the smallest creatures among us enjoy many of the same things we do. I feel like they have a lot to teach me about nourishment, balance, transformation, and impermanence.

Here's a poem I wrote incorporating the titles of all the paintings in this collection:

To hunger is human,
but not ours alone
life needs death
like life needs life
like lungs need breath
like light needs night

To nourish is human,
but not ours alone
root to branch
to fruit to seed
hawthorne, apple–
sacraments, freed

To flourish is human,
but not ours alone
consider a lily,
or starling, or stone
or the strawberry moon,
with naught to atone

To nurture is human,
but not ours alone
open, gasp
dissolve our walls
to cradle, clasp
allow, then fall

out of the dream
into the all

Come see this piece in person at @thecopperwolf gallery along with lots of other fall-inspired art!
