And just like that, we did it. I loved this show then and still do, 10 years later.

In the words of George C. Wolfe, it’s a “beautiful miracle” that basically all of the original team-cast, music, stage management, costume design, set design, lighting, sound was able & willing to come back together and do this concert…in two weeks. Phew. I think it speaks to how we ALL felt about the show.

It’s been a reunion indeed. Like a family reunion. Like the ones with the t-shirts. I love these people. I’m so glad we got to do it again. For the original Shuffle Along cast. For us. For the culture.

Thank you, Lincoln Center @lincolncenter

Years from now, people will look back and not believe that all of those stars shared one stage. Hell, I feel that way today and I saw it!

Written and Directed by George C. Wolfe. Choreographed by Savion Glover.

A brilliant and difficult musical that lives in my mind like a beautiful memory. I remember so little of it, but everything about how it made me feel.

Legacy, Location, and Ladies.

I walked into the Beverly Hills Women’s Club a few months ago simply because I had just moved down the block. I walked out with a sense of community and purpose.

As Women’s History Month gets underway, I’m proud to stand alongside the inspiring women of the @bhwc90210 in a cover story celebrating this 110-year-old civic institution.

Since 1916, the Beverly Hills Women’s Club has advanced culture, served the community, and strengthened the civic spirit of Beverly Hills. Its first president, Mary Katherine Moore Parker, attended the first national political convention ever held west of the Rockies — just weeks before the ratification of the 19th Amendment granting women the right to vote.

Over the decades, members and supporters have included Mary Pickford, Gloria Swanson, Judy Garland, and Amelia Earhart.

Thank you to @the_eden_magazine_ for spotlighting this community. Thank you to @gordonjt1355 for encouraging me to take that stroll down the block to the Clubhouse (we may still invite you in). And a special shout-out to a very special woman in “herstory” — professor, author, and historian Judy Barrett Litoff. I picture Mama up there in lively conversation with the suffragists — trading stories and laughing her unforgettable laugh at how we’re carrying forward the tradition of wearing white in 2026.

In many parts of the world, women are still denied basic rights. As we celebrate progress, we must remember: human rights are not optional, they are essential.

The Eden Magazine’s March issue proudly features the inspiring women of the Beverly Hills Women’s Club in Beverly Hills leaders who embody strength, service, and community.
