⚡️10 DRILLS FOR MORE SPEED! ⚡️ It’s no secret, if you want to take your running to the next level and become a faster runner, you need to incorporate running drills into your training routine. Running drills will help improve your technique, rhythm and as well, make your running stride more efficient. This combination will be sure to add more speed to your game! These 10 drills from @madeleinenilssons are great if you want to work on your rhythm and coordination. Try some/all of them as a part of your warmup before your next running session. Some days, it feels like you’ll never get faster… but then you take a second to look back at how far you’ve come. 🥹🏃‍♀️ Since I started running in 2018, I’ve completed 13 half marathons and shaved nearly 17 minutes off my time. Breaking the 2-hour mark for the first time was such a huge milestone for me. It’s taken years of showing up, trusting the process, and celebrating the small gains along the way. Progress doesn’t happen overnight, and it definitely isn’t linear, but those little improvements really do add up! Sharing this in the hope it helps anyone who’s feeling frustrated or stuck in their running journey. I’ve been there, wondering if I’d ever get faster. What a pleasure to be part of the 23rd annual County Marathon as the Official Wellness Partner! From connecting with runners at the Wellness Expo at Crystal Palace on Saturday to helping everyone get warmed up at the start lines on Sunday, it was wonderful to be part of a weekend that celebrates movement, community and people challenging themselves in so many different ways. 🍷🏃‍♀️ Race Review: @thecountymarathon I ran the Half-Marathon last weekend and I highly recommend if you’re looking for a scenic fall race!🌿🍇 ✨ The highlights: * Beautiful countryside and @sandbankspp views - running along the water was amazing 🌊 * Very well organized, only 2500 participants so bib pickup is a breeze *The half starts late (10am) - which could be good or bad depending on your preference *Point to point race - you get bused to the start line from the finish. * Course is fairly flat (except one pesky hill near the finish!) *Post-race party: food trucks, chocolate milk, bananas, cookies, free beer @princeeddysbrewing *Spend the weekend exploring PEC - wineries, great restaurants, shopping! Add this one to your next Ontario race bucket list! 🍇 #princeedwardcounty #ontariotravel #ontarioparks #picton

The County (Half) Marathon! Last year I raced the 5K and this year the half marathon. Two years in a row running this awesome event in the county. The half started in West Lake so we were bussed out there from the finish area at the fairgrounds. It was chilly but definitely warmed up over the course of the morning as the sun came out. It was a gorgeous scenic course past Sandbanks, along Lake Ontario for a while, turning north toward Picton through farm fields with East Lake off to the side. Finally we ran down Main St and up to the Crystal Palace for a loud cheering finish line! There were a few key memories… 🏃🏻‍♂️ Standing in line for the bus with @erica.in.nature freezing my butt off 🏃🏻‍♂️ The busy start, so many people 🏃🏻‍♂️ The ladies giving out pre-race snacks and water at the church by the start line 🏃🏻‍♂️ The big crowds cheering at the half way point 🏃🏻‍♂️ The huge “Dealbreaker” hill around 17K 🏃🏻‍♂️ Half way up the hill a fella cranking dance music from a huge speaker really energized me 🏃🏻‍♂️ The 500m run to the finish was amazing! 🏃🏻‍♂️ Catching up with friends unexpectedly I finished around the 2 Hour mark, my legs were hurting more than I would have liked, but I just didn’t do the training this summer. Lessons were learned haha! This is such a memorable race for me and I plan on coming back for more! Thanks to @thecountymarathon organizers and all the awesome volunteers for an amazing weekend! ❤️ #RunOttawa #RunOttawa2026

Second marathon ✔️ Not the race I’d hoped for but tried my best. Initially had my shoe too loose, then too tight so redid twice. Overall came 3rd in women 20-29 and 5th for women. Chip time 3:34:26

Had so much fun running my first official half marathon!! Thanks to everyone who came out to support us and the rest of the run club. Thank you to our amazing run club for keeping us motivated and honest too 🙈 Amazing event @thecountymarathon this year! Can’t wait to do it again! You can also tell from the photos that this was a little easier and more enjoyable than Hyrox (added a Hyrox pic at the end to demonstrate the absolute pain and frustration) 😂 There’s levels to this 😅

8 months postpartum, and somehow… a marathoner. 🥹🏅 Becoming a mom has been one of the greatest things I have ever done, but postpartum also changed me in ways I wasn’t prepared for. Somewhere between the sleepless nights, bottles, diapers, schedules and learning how to be someone’s mom, I needed something that reminded me that I was still me too. Running became that for me. It gave me an outlet. It gave me confidence. It gave me something to work toward. And little by little, with every kilometre, I started to feel like myself again. Training for this marathon did more for my mental health than I ever expected. It gave me something that was mine — a goal and a reason to keep showing up for myself, even on the days when I was tired, overwhelmed, or doubted whether I could actually do it. This challenged me in ways I have never been challenged before. There were long runs that felt impossible, days I wanted to quit, and moments my body was begging me to stop. But I learned just how powerful the mind can be. My body carried me 42.2 km, but my mind is what got me to the finish line. I will never forget the feeling of realizing that I am so much stronger — mentally and physically — than I ever knew. And none of this would have been possible without my family. Every long run meant someone else stepping in. Every hour spent training meant support, encouragement and sacrifice from the people I love most. They believed in me on the days I didn’t believe in myself, and because of them, I was able to chase something that once felt completely impossible. Eight months after my body brought my daughter into this world, it carried me across a marathon finish line. I did this for me — but I hope one day Elodie knows that she was part of the reason I found this version of myself. A stronger one. A braver one. A mom who now knows she can do really, really hard things. And I hope she grows up knowing just how strong her parents are, and believing that she can do anything she sets her mind to, too. 🤍 42.2 km. A million emotions. And one of the proudest things I have ever done. 🥹🏅 Marathoner. I still can’t believe I get to say that. 🤍
