we’re hosting a one-off evening at @chaterssaffronwalden; a slow, creative night of poetry, pastels and mindful making.

join me (bethany) & @jpearce_art for an intimate session combining live spoken word and bilateral drawing: a gentle, meditative way of creating where you let your hands move while the poetry unfolds around you.

no experience needed, just come as you are.
you’ll be welcomed with a P&P spritz (or non-alcoholic version), nibbles, and all materials provided.

after the session, the evening continues at Chater’s where we welcome you to join us for dinner, drinks and conversation, with the space reserved just for us. it’s a chance to linger, unwind, and carry the creative atmosphere into the rest of the night together and leave with new friends!

⏰ 6:30pm arrival
🎤 7:00pm poetry & pastels
🍽 8:00pm onwards dinner & drinks

Join @bethcallaway and I for 'Pastels & Poetry' a mindful pastel drawing, poetry evening. Bilateral drawing is a calming meditative practice where you create with both hands, it's not about making something perfect, but letting your hands and mind wander. You'll be guided through gentle drawing exercises accompanied by carefully chosen spoken pieces to encourage reflection, imagination and presence.
🫒 🍸 🍋‍🟩 Tickets include a signature cocktail and delicious table nibbles with all art materials are provided.

I often use this pastel exercise as a warm up for my home ed student or in secondary school art workshops, as it's so immersive and fun, cutting out the fear of the blank page and enabling playful and experimental mark making and colour combinations. Unexpectedly beautiful and rhythmic patterns emerge as you enter flow states!

Tickets are £30 via tinyfruitpress.co.uk

Can't wait to see you there!
