POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

A quick one. I was really surprised by how many people found this message helpful. I’ve tried to stop overthinking and just remind myself it may not always work, it won’t always feel easy but atleast it feels like I’m DOING.

This week alone I’ve had 23 children compete in a whole school borough dance competition, 2 author visits to schools welcoming their new reception cohort for September, reading my book to children who really were engaged and I’ve been a judge on a dance comp panel watching an amazing generation of future dancers!

The idea has been there for ages it’s just that I’ve decided to have a go. So as my little video says no matter how small the idea is just have a go

Last night was Croydon’s biggest dance competition of the school year. A team of 23 students who auditioned to be a part of our dance squad. 6 weeks of rehearsals and last night I once again was reminded exactly why I took a leap last year

EVERY child deserves the right to perform, to have have access to the arts and to stand on a stage in front of an audience who will cheer them on and make them feel like legends

EVERY child in this team comes from a different background, race, religion and none of it matters. I will empower them, support them and all I want is to continue to grow @thecreativespaceuk to be the doorway for all young people to see their inner super hero. I’m not trying to teach them to be professional performers (some of them will be) The Creative Space is to give them all the confidence through performing to achieve and believe in anything they want to do in life ❤️

A massive thank you to @hpakenley for all of their support and understanding how important the arts are in education

There are so many reasons you should dance, my list is endless!
But building a community, feeling empowered, loving yourself, believing in yourself and improving your mental and physical wellbeing are just a few things we achieve in my classes

It’s not just a dance class it’s a necessity!!!

I wanted to create a class for me and in doing this I realised I’ve created a class for so many of us!!!!
The link is in the bio, come along and join me on the dance floor!!!

September reset!

I’ve always seen September as my new year, much more than January 1st. Maybe it’s something to do with the new school term and being conditioned since we were in school to start fresh in September, be better, do better etc

A reminder you can stop, restart, reset, rebuild or redo whenever you want! You can start creating new habits, invest in new ideas and go forward into whatever story you want to create!!!

Literally 10 years ago when I had my second son, I talked about wanting to dance again, wanting to dance for me, to control my class, empower my class and have fun!! Today marks another first for me, my first “Empow-HER” workshop set up to encourage a love of dance for all ages, to empower the younger generation whilst encouraging us mums to let lose and share the space with those little ones who watch us so closely!!! I am doing it, not talking about it, I’m just stepping out and having a go!!!
