“My Executive MBA made me realize how small I am, but also how big change often starts small.”

To my dears who noticed that I’ve been a little quieter and less social since January 2025 — here’s why. 😌

I went into this #ExecutiveMBA with a fairly clear intention.

My academic background is in Mathematics & Economics — yes, Maths & Econs, not Mass Comm 😂 — and while my career somehow found its way into Marketing, Branding, Advertising and Creative, I had never really gone through a systematic, rigorous education in business.

I was curious.

Would understanding the technicalities behind businesses, being exposed to cases beyond my own industry, and working through real problems change the way I see, think and act?

There was another reason too.

Since Day 01 of my career, Marketing has been the space where I’ve built most of my experience, confidence and, hopefully, some reputation. I love what I do. But I’ve also never wanted one strength to define the entirety of what I could become.

I refuse to be a one-trick pony.
(Even My Little Pony is multi-talented. 🦄)

I want to be versatile. I want to know what I don’t know.

I don’t need to be an expert in everything, but I would love to be able to sit at more tables, understand more perspectives, ask better questions, and participate meaningfully in conversations far beyond my own function.

So… what’s one rather efficient way of doing all that?

Do an EMBA. 😂

Fortunately, I didn’t have to search very far. I happen to work at — and market — a business school that brings together what I’ve always found fascinating about both East and West.

Established in collaboration with MIT Sloan @mitsloan, the Asia School of Business @asiaschoolofbusiness is built around the idea of “Global Inquiry, Local Heart”: bringing global thinking into the realities of our part of the world, and learning not just through classrooms, but through action.

I suppose becoming a user of my own product is also quite an effective marketing pitch. 😏
