A work of art is never created in a single brushstroke. 🩰

It is built through hundreds of thoughtful details, each one bringing the larger picture into focus.

This week, Anaïs Chalendard joined us at IBA, bringing her extraordinary attention to precision, intricate footwork, and the subtle qualities of style that distinguish movement from true artistry.

Her passion for ballet is a reminder that the most meaningful training reaches beyond the studio. It shapes how we observe, listen, work, and ultimately live.

Meanwhile, our Nutcracker production gained a few more brushstrokes of its own. Rehearsals continued, costumes were fitted, and suddenly the stage felt a little closer.

Every correction, every repetition, every fitting has a purpose.

We are not simply preparing a performance. We are developing artists through the process of creating one.

And what a wonderful process it is.

SUBMISSIONS ARE OFFICIALLY OPEN!!!!

*auditioning is optional and not required to participate in the workshop*

For the first time ever, WhirlWind is introducing an application-based Winter Workshop + Audition Experience, and we are SO excited to welcome a new room of artists into our world.

December 12–13, join us in Columbus, Ohio for two days of movement, exploration, connection, and TRAINING!

Classes will run from 10 AM–3 PM Saturday + Sunday

This year, we’re introducing an application process to preserve the quality and integrity of the experience, creating an intentional space for pre-professional and professional dancers to challenge themselves, take risks, and GROW.

AND!!! This workshop will also serve as an optional audition opportunity for consideration for WhirlWind’s Season VI Professional Company and 2027–2028 MOVE Training Program.

Auditioning is completely OPTIONAL. You do not have to audition to participate in the workshop! This is simply an opportunity to get in the room, experience our process, and potentially be considered for what’s next as we begin future selection and contract conversations.

There comes a point when progress becomes a choice.

A choice to commit.
To stop looking for shortcuts.
To trust the work.
To show up on the difficult days as well as the good ones.

We are watching our dancers make that choice—and the difference is becoming visible. ✨

Their improvement is not accidental. It is the result of weeks of focused training, thoughtful repetition, corrections applied again and again, and a growing understanding of what serious commitment can produce.

Becoming your best does not happen all at once. It happens in the accumulation of small decisions made every day.

Choose the work. Stay with it. See where it can take you. 🩰

If you’re still looking for a place that will challenge you, support your growth, and help you become the best version of yourself, come train with us.

Take a trial class and see if IBA is the right fit for you. 🤍

✨ Week 2 has begun!

We’re thrilled to welcome Anaïs Chalendard to IBA Summer Intensive 2026. Her knowledge, passion, and dedication to developing dancers make this an incredible opportunity for our students.

Combined with coaching and mentorship from Nikki Fannéy, soloist with Ballet West, and artists from other professional companies, our dancers are receiving firsthand insight into the demands, discipline, and expectations of professional ballet life.

We are incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by artists and educators who are so generous with their knowledge and who continue to inspire the next generation of dancers through their experience and passion for the art form.

The energy is high. The work continues. Let’s make Week 2 special. ✨🩰

One incredible week. Countless lessons. ✨

As we wrap up Week 1 of our Summer Intensive, we are filled with gratitude for the artists and educators who have shared their knowledge, experience, and passion with our students.

We were honored to welcome Olivier Pardina, whose wisdom, attention to detail, and inspiring approach continue to shape the next generation of dancers. Working with a true master teacher is a gift, and we are incredibly fortunate to have him as part of the IBA family.

This week also featured:
• Repertory coaching from Nikki Fannéy, Soloist with Ballet West, sharing works from her professional career.
• Musical theater scenes with Ms. Kat, inspired by West Side Story.
• Our youngest dancers exploring excerpts from Graduation Ball and discovering the joy of storytelling through movement.
• Coaching from Paxton Speight, sharing a solo from his repertoire at Atlanta Ballet.
• A wonderful pointe shoe fitting with the amazing and caring professionals from Lucky Dancewear and Vitisse Pointe Shoes. We are incredibly grateful to collaborate with dedicated experts who help our dancers find the tools they need to train safely, confidently, and successfully.

At IBA, our mission is simple: expose dancers to the highest level of training, artistry, and professional experience possible. Every class, every correction, every rehearsal is another tool added to their toolbox—preparing them not only to dance, but to thrive in the professional world.

Week 1 complete. 💙

The work continues, the learning continues, and we are so excited to welcome Anaïs Chalendard for Week 2. We can’t wait to see what the next chapter of this summer brings.
