On Juneteenth, Part 1

Equating Juneteenth with just a day off is reductionary and harmful. Juneteenth is an urgent and principled call to action to materially support the most marginalized of the most marginalized — our Black trans and queer Muslim siblings.

Our Black trans and queer Muslim comrades are oftentimes one of the only communities on the front lines, committing their whole selves to tirelessly fight against systems of oppression and build a liberated world. This Juneteenth, non-Black allies must make the same commitment to collective liberation.

Suggested $25 donation, nobody turned away due to lack of funds. No jerks, only a jolly good showing of consensual violence to make sure fighters all over the country have the opportunity to compete. #redpandamuaythai #queersports #seattlemuaythai #queerfighter

We’re gonna be having a Halloween weekend party and benefit for the gym. As many of you may or may not be aware, Red Panda proudly provides low barrier training that centers the Q&T community. As a result, our membership is robust but the financial side of things has yet to reflect the number of students we have currently. This fundraiser with go towards paying coaches an ethical wage for their labor and equipment upgrades that are necessary as our program expands. If you’re a fighter, sign up to fight and tell your friends to come hangout and watch you and your new/old friends spar/roll and have fun in the ring. It’s gonna be a PARTYYYYY!!! 5-10pm Saturday!

The one and only Fighter Doctor Educator @thedapperhijabi Mar Aziz
teaches me a lot about the importance of the kick, the jab, the push, the defense, the dance of making it through our internal and external occupations.

here they are blessing this book with their own words!

About yesterday: we had at least 5 different martial arts schools properly represented (and more) at our 3rd and arguably best sparBQ yet. Special thanks to all the radical people who came to spar or just watch and socialize, but especially to the many different gyms who represented themselves in such a measurably beautiful way. We truly are stronger together and I adore the ability we have to hangout, and cross train with one another. Thank you for this amazing community! Let’s do it again in September! 🥰 #redpandamuaythai #queersports #fusionkungfu #cappysboxinggym #snowblindbjj #nwkajukenboclub #queerfighter

Attention Seattle area Trans martial artists. A lot of the T girl Tuesday crowd have moved over to Time Warp from Pony and since we are directly across the street, it gave me the idea to start a Trans sparring night on the same day after community self defense. My thought is that it might be fun to train and then bounce over there to sing Karaoke after our session is finished. Anyway, this coming Tuesday we’re gonna have a little experiment and see how it goes! Should be fun af! #tgirltuesday #teep4teep #t4t #redpandamuaythai #queerfighter #seattlemuaythai #queerfightnightseattle
