Ahead of the next round of Dash Bash speakers, we thought it would be fun to revisit the previous opening videos for the conference starting with our first event in 2021 when @antfood.music scored this heavy metal banger!

What, like it’s hard?? 😇 PUT your clothes on, leave the house and SHOW up for people… you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how the evening goes. Thank you @dash_nc for a lovely evening celebrating @thedashbash with some of my Raleigh creative buds. Moving here 5 years ago, I wouldn’t have put myself in the room with this caliber of humans and brains 💓 this is what Raleigh is all about ⚡️ #raleighinfluencers #raleighlife #raleighevents #downtownraleigh #buildcommunity

Keep your box. I don't want it! When we're kids we're told we can do anything. But when adulthood begins, society has a way of trying to sort, compress and condition us to think within limits, boundaries and boxes. 📦 Freedom is a choice. But it's up to you to choose it. We all contain multitudes. And when we embrace it authentically, reality can bend around you. 🤌🏾 --- Full speech, "Don't Pivot, Flow" available in bio @thedashbash

One day I woke up with 20,000 followers on Instagram and my life changed forever. 2020 marked the beginning of a cultural renaissance for black digital artists and taste makers who were finally getting platformed and resourced in spaces where their perspectives had previously been undervalued. And through serendipitous circumstances I was one of the lucky few given an opportunity to show the world what I was made of. My illustration career blossomed alongside a fantastic cohort of other black women illustrators, graphic designers and art directors who showed the world a brand new perspective on connection, culture and color during a time of social isolation and societal clash. But that experience wasn't all glamor and fun, it was also a test to my confidence and self-worth. This is my story. --- Full speech available in bio: "Don't Pivot, Flow" (@thedashbash)

One day I woke up and decided to love myself 🙂‍↕️ I quit my corporate job at the height of an employment crisis. I rediscovered my humanity through gardening. I rebuilt my body through yoga. In 2025 the performance of who I thought I needed in order to be worthy had to die. And from those ashes a truer version of myself emerged. Refined by the narratives that held power over me for so long. 2026 is our year, it's time to wake up 🐦‍🔥 ---- Full speech: "Don't Pivot, Flow" (link in bio) @thedashbash
