Wake up. Shuffle the kids to school. Work, practice, dinner, dishes, bed. ⏰

Then do it all again.

When you’re running your life by the to-do list, the days blur together and everything feels a little lackluster. You’re getting it all done, but you’re hydroplaning through life instead of actually LIVING it.

We have such a short time here. A short time to slow down and savor being in a human body.

To taste a juicy peach.
To feel another body close to yours.
To take in the light hitting the trees and the sound of your kids laughing in the next room.

No modality I know wakes us up to the miracle of LIFE more than DEATH. 🖤

I lost my husband, Ian, to cancer when I was 32, with two little kids at home. In the middle of that heartbreak, something cracked open, and I started to see how precious every ordinary moment is.

Now I teach death medicine, using the awareness that our finitude time here – to wake up to what matters and to be in awe of our everyday existence!

💀That’s why I created the Death Disco.🪩

One evening where you don’t just THINK about how short life is, you FEEL it in your bones.

You’ll journey to the end of your life in a guided deathbed visualization, see how you’ve been living, and release what’s keeping you on autopilot. Then we turn the lights low and dance under a disco ball, celebrating simply being alive.

✨You crave more awe, presence and wonder, but keep searching for it in the wrong places.

Some conversations are too important to put off. 💗

THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for Love Says It Out Loud, a special conversation brought to life by The Love Policy and The Death Deck.

Together, we laughed, reflected, asked meaningful questions, and made space for conversations that aren’t always easy but matter more than we realize.

Our biggest takeaway? Talking about the future isn’t about preparing for the worst. It’s about loving the people in our lives enough to have the conversations that matter today.

This was a conversation with a ton of heart, honesty, and purpose.

And to everyone who showed up, participated, and shared their thoughts, thank you for being part of something so meaningful.

This is just the beginning and we have so many exciting things to come to continue to enhance our collective mission.

Today we’re honored to introduce the people who volunteer their time to make Postal Service for the Dead possible!

Our Advisory Board is made up of archivists, artists, grief workers, caregivers, clinicians, educators, and community members who each bring their own experiences of loss, healing, and connection.

Grief is a shared human experience that, for many, can also feel deeply isolating. Our Advisory Board is guiding the future of the org by creating a community where there is space to honor people, share stories, and find connection through grief.
