POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Like most Septembers I played a lot this past one. Here are some good moments. Appreciate everyone rocking my “Subtle Moves in Silence” merch. Speaking of the album, tomorrow I’ll be making one of the most significant announcements of my life as a musician. In the interim here is disco bass, bubbles, both Lon Chaneys, Dolly, Jerry and Bobby, @christianace135 playing Bonham, Penny Charles photo excellence and other assorted fun from the vibrant Jersey scene and the excellent people who let me sing and play basses.

My incredibly uninteresting flyer for this week’s gig shows: a photo of my first band Prism practicing in our drummer’s garage in 1999! Our PA was a Karaoke machine on a chair. My bass amp was a Peavey that was 100 watts and weighed as much as a Buick. I knew I was just pretending to be cool and nothing has changed!
But you should still check out my new album “Subtle Moves in Silence”.
I’m proud of it because the songs are strong, the playing is incredible and it’s the best engineered music I’ve heard in a long time - thanks @akarttikeya

August 2026 was another excellent month of gigs!
Much variety singing, playing my modern 5 strings and vintage 4 strings, playing Upright and generally covering the basses in every kind of style while my album release came to fruition! I played the parts from the records and explored the improv in my mind ⚡️
See you in September, do you remember?

and now, the next album chapter has entered the chat 🃏

meet “Wreckless!” barely breathin’s stark, angry little sista.

though this piece of work presents itself as hilarious and an obvious parody of my experience, the period I wrote this about was actually extremely dark, frightening, and unhinged. in college, a professor told me that sometimes it’s easier to write hot topics cold, so I gave it a try and loved the result.

thank you to my mentor, Mike Flannery, for guiding me through this one both vocally and emotionally.

“Wreckless!” is out now on all streaming platforms! I wanted to share some of the real inspiration I gathered for this tune in 2021 because it’s raw. Zakk Wylde was indeed a big inspo for my take on a punk rock sound. I LOVE YOU ZAKK⚡️you’ve forever changed my approach to songwriting.

and yes, I’ve quit any and all nicotine for good and I obviously love my life a lot more!!!! 🫶

July is typically a busy month for musicians in this region and I’m very grateful to be a part of so many rewarding projects (both on land and sea 🤣) Even with the hustle of gigs I made it a point to get my album ready for release, I can’t wait for you to hear “Subtle Moves in Silence” next Wednesday 8.12.26!

For now dig some moments with an incredible variety of musicians. I am so proud to be the kind of bass player and singer that can fit in all of these situations. I’ve never said that publicly because it sounds arrogant, maybe it is, but it is something I continually work on and maybe the idea helps someone. It also continues to help me become a better composer and improviser.

Honored to have been featured in @notreble an excellent resource for musicians.

This was eight years ago this week and I reflect on where I was at that point in my development. I had dreamed of recording a second album featuring musicians I admire and that dream becomes a reality when “Subtle Moves in Silence” drops on Wednesday, August 12th!

A little late but here are my gig shows this week:
Mon 7/27 - @patiobarnj w/ @mikedaltonband
Tues 7/28 - @martells_tikibar w/ Mike Dalton Trio
Thurs 7/29 - Private Event, LH Solo Acoustic
Fri 7/30 - @njqueenmary w/ Mike Dalton Trio
Sat 8/1 (3pm) - @icarusbrewing w/ Chris Buono Collective featuring @rosa_avila_drums 🥁
Sat 8/1 (8pm) - @riverrocknj w/ @undisputednj
Sun 8/2 - @lokalbrewco w/ Duo Calvo

Shout out to Mike Klopp who appears in the photo and is one of the most creative drummers I know!
