What an excellent time we had at @terrarosa.spain With much gratitude in my heart I'm celebrating an incredible second edition of The Rite of Surrender! This weeklong was created for and by queer+ men, or anyone who periodically identifies as such. A true gem of a group, which showed so much sensitivity, attunement, gentle strength, and depth of being. @simonmagnus_ and I had the privilege to guide these beautiful men and gender fluid/non-conforming beings through a week of group exploration, where they in turn supported each other to get the download on the powerful impact k ink and ritual can have on a person. As a small temporary community, we embraced the greatness and the vulnerability of one another, and created what I like to call a 'social technology' for collective empowerment and expression through ritualized scene work. Such a blessing to be able to do this work, and to be held so sweetly in it by the Terra Rosa crew and community. And a deep bow of appreciation to my epic friend and co-creator @simonmagnus_ who made all of this possible. I adore your honesty, kind spirit and inspiration as a leader & change-maker in this world <3 I also thoroughly enjoyed exploring the area and luxuriating in its beautiful nudist-friendly beaches. Looking forward to more of this next year - we already have our 2027 dates locked in for the next Rite of Surrender, so stay posted via my email list if you'd like to get a discounted spot when registrations open!

Next weekend, I will be on the team for Celebrating the Body Erotic with @theembodiedexplorer @bodyelectrictoronto @thebodyelectricschool (May 29–31), and this is why it matters to me as a gender-affirming voice teacher. A huge part of my work as a voice teacher revolves around helping people reconnect with parts of themselves they’ve had to suppress in order to survive socially. For many of us, without even realizing while it’s happening, the body turns into a very complicated household. monitoring, adjusting Performing safety Disconnecting dissociating Negotiating visibility That affects the voice. It affects intimacy. It affects breath, posture, pleasure, expression, confidence, relationships, and the ability to feel fully present inside your own body. a lot of people are living like this right now, queer or not. Whether they realize it or not. What I appreciate about Body Electric is that underneath the language around eroticism, the work is very grounded: consent boundaries choice touch play presence connection and staying connected to yourself while being witnessed by others It’s political work in a culture that benefits from people being disconnected from themselves. Audre Lorde wrote: “The erotic is a measure between the beginnings of our sense of self and the chaos of our strongest feelings.” This work has never really been separate from voice work for me. A person’s voice changes when they stop bracing against themselves all the time. As a trans person, spaces like this have helped me reconnect with my body in ways that performance, transition, sobriety, and traditional therapy alone couldn’t fully reach. So I’m grateful to now be part of helping hold that kind of space for others. If you’re curious about the workshop or wondering whether it’s for you, reach out 🖤 More info through @bodyelectrictoronto • May 29–31 #Embodiment #QueerHealing #BodyElectric #TransArtist #VoiceWork
