There’s something truly enchanting about holding a beautiful magazine filled with all things Christmas and cozy. Somewhere in the distance, you can almost hear the faint jingle of sleigh bells. The sky seems to darken just a little, as if thousands of unique snowflakes are about to tumble from the clouds and blanket the ground in sparkling white. That warm, familiar glow that Christmas brings begins to stir, lifting your spirits with a quiet joy and sense of anticipation.
All of that happened, just standing in line, waiting to pay for this magazine.
I know it’s far too early for Christmas… Hallowe’en hasn’t even arrived yet! But for those of us who love to take our time to plan, to make, and to create, Christmas is never very far from our thoughts.

Today was one of those days where you have to take a step back and let it sink in.

I’ve been a subscriber to Ideal Home Magazine for over 15 years. Even before I knew I wanted to take the path of interior design or styling I just knew I was drawn to this magazine. The imagery, the inspiration, the tips and tricks and how it felt seeing it arrive in the post and looking forward to sitting with a hot drink and flicking through the pages. It always felt like a little slice to soulful bliss to me and I feel like only in the last few years have I started to understand why.

The more I delve into this extraordinary creative design world the more I realise how in love with it I am and how I feel like I’ve found my place.

Turns out maybe my soul knew it before I did.

Today I got to shoot in my own home as my own feature for the Ideal Home Complete Guide to Christmas Magazine. The photos are absolutely dreamy and I cannot wait for you to see them. Whether it be that you are subscribed to the magazine, you always grab the Christmas one for inspo or you accidentally pick one up in a waiting room - I’m going to be in it… my home, my Christmas ideas, my thoughts and a few little lovely vignettes that you could take inspiration from just like I have flicking through the magazine with my hot drinks over the last 15 years.

A true pinch me moment.

I cannot wait for you to see it.

To say I’m grateful for this opportunity is an understatement, this moment is truly more than I can explain and if you’re here then you played a part in this.

After 15 years of being a subscriber to the Ideal Home Magazine, this past July I got to assist the stylist on the shoot for the Ideal Homes Complete Guide to Christmas 2023 magazine.

I have been waiting to share these little shots of behind-the-scenes with you, and really can’t tell you how amazing it was for me to get a little insight into the world of magazines and the small but mighty and very talented team of people behind the creations.

I fully encourage you to go and buy this and all your favourite home and interior magazines. I grew up dreaming and being inspired by magazines just like this one and I feel very privileged to be a small part of it this year.
