Got your hands on the new @simplyscandimag Vol 20 Winter issue yet? Five Winter issues ago, I made the decision (with the help of my fab husband and my gang around me #youknowwhoyouare❤️) to launch my own magazine. What a journey - and I’m excited to launch our Christmas gifts next week! Of course, times being everything from the person who orders the envelopes (said husband said I wasn’t allowed to stuff them from home - thanks @newsstandmagazines who stepped in), to the accountant, ad manager and, the best bit, writer, is a juggle, but I wouldn’t change it!

I feel I should be ‘All ready’ having started Christmas editing work back in June, but nope! So today, I’m revisiting the lovely Christmas home of @amandajohndesign which we shot for this year’s @idealhomeuk Christmas (out now!) with Sara and Dan from @thecontentednest team.

Clare has such a beautiful eye, and like her home, she is so calm - even when Christmas arrived in July, she took it all in her stride! Just the person to manage an interiors project I thought to myself!

Anyway sharing a few details as a memory of a great day! 🌲🍸❤️

Riley, of Riley Publishing has written a book! Foal’s Storm by Riley Howard.

Can’t think where she gets it from (and I’ve only ever done magazines to date!).

So incredibly proud of her (and big thanks to writing coach @lexi.rees and @consideredcreative.co for the artwork!). On Amazon… 🤗 by @theformereditor

Recent work for @sainsburysmag - Easy Eclectic story in the March issue, out now!

Loving this soft palette and natural wood combo - all about creating a home that says ‘me’! I can relate to that!

‘Going with your heart will mean this scheme will withstand current trends, allowing you to layer more favourite pieces as each season passes.’

Summer was… well Christmas, working on our fourth Simply Scandi Christmas special (fifth if you count our launch digital issue – how have I edited so many already?). But Christmas is one time of year that I never tire of even starting so early – it just gives me longer to think about what Scandi touches and traditions I want to bring home this year.

Thanks as always to our Simply Scandi team - @consideredcreative.co, @emilyjpointer84, @nordicnotesblog, @myscandinavianhome, @Laura_hall_copenhagen as well as Image Professionals, Living Inside and Inside Home Page, and our lovely printers @acornwebprint

We’ve been busy at Simply Scandi HQ – not only has our first bookazine (that’s a hybrid of a book and a magazine) Simply Scandi Retreats, just launched, but we’ve built a whole new website over on Shopify, where you can susbcribe, buy past and present issues, as well as enjoy our lovely Scandi content. And all under one Simply Scandi roof.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Meanwhile, back with Simply Scandi Retreats… inside this beautiful special – which I’ve simply loved working on – you’ll find Scandi places by the sea, retreats in the forest, and those more urban escapes.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Of course, while we might live different lifestyles to our Scandinavian neighbours, the idea of a retreat to ‘borrow’ is something we are all familiar with, so we’ve also included places to stay across the UK and Scandinavia – all chosen for their location as well as their Scandi style credentials, because we always want to be inspired!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s 212 pages, printed on beautiful paper, with a matt cover – we know you’ll be keeping this in your Simply Scandi collection for years to come.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Why not escape with us this summer?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You’ll find Simply Scandi Retreats exclusively in @marksandspencer on the high street, or you can order a copy direct to your door via link in bio/stories.

New work… I love the balance of being editor and publisher of @simplyscandimag Scandi and writing for some of my favourite homes magazines.

Once an Ideal Home gal though… always an Ideal Home gal! I was deputy editor almost 14 years ago!

Thanks to Ginevra Benedetti for @idealhomeuk March’s commission Plan the Perfect On-trend Kitchens, where I chatted all things kitchens with @wrenkitchens Kitchens Debra Hutt, Francesca Fender of @johnlewisofhungerford Hungerford and Katie Parry-Stone of @cosentinouk

And we are live with our Simply Scandi Christmas 2023! It’s our fourth Christmas special and third in print. And trust me, it’s a goodie, after the team (thanks @consideredcreativeco) poured a summer’s worth of love into it. Head to @simplyscandimag to find out more.
