Luxury hospitality has never been more crowded, and neither has the content around it. Beautiful rooms, beautiful plates and beautiful views are everywhere, and guests have learned to tune most of it out. What still cuts through is a story that feels true, told by someone they trust.⁠ ⁠ That trust now reaches further than ever. More travellers are asking AI tools where to stay and where to eat, and those tools rely on human voices to answer. Research from Muck Rack found that 82% of the sources AI cites are earned media: journalism, criticism and expert commentary written by real people. The same research found that only 2% of the journalists brands pitch most are the ones those answers draw on.⁠ ⁠ So the fundamentals matter more than ever. Know what makes a place genuinely special, find the writers who care about that kind of story, and build relationships with them that last.⁠ ⁠ Every story we tell is written by people, for people. Over the weekend, The Bartender’s Edit (@thebartendersedit) made its Bangkok debut, joining editions across London, Edinburgh, Milan, Singapore and Hong Kong. The launch brought the city’s bar community together at The House on Sathorn, followed by celebrations at Bar Sathorn (@barsathorn). Congratulations to Sam Gillani (@thelondonboozehound) on a successful launch and another milestone for The Bartender’s Edit.

With a background spanning F&B operations, hospitality and marketing, Proddy’s journey has taken her from Boston to Bangkok, including roles with The Eliot Hotel and Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group. She is also the creator behind @hungryproddy, a food, drink and lifestyle platform she has grown over the past decade, sharing culinary discoveries from around the world. At The Foundry, Proddy will work across our hospitality and F&B clients, bringing an insider’s understanding of the industry together with a creator’s perspective on communications and storytelling.

Meet Henry Stonham (@that_henry_bloke), our new Regional Head of Partnerships & Business Development. With a strong track record across hospitality, events and international trade platforms, Henry brings a wealth of experience in building partnerships, communities and platforms that connect brands with culture. Previously at Reed Exhibitions, he led the development of Bar Convent Singapore, one of the region’s key platforms for the bar and drinks industry, and is also the Co-Founder of Singapore Cocktail Crossover, bringing together cocktails, creativity, community and lifestyle. At The Foundry, Henry will lead regional partnerships and business development, driving new opportunities and community-led initiatives as we continue to grow our presence and capabilities across Asia. A new chapter for The Foundry, and plenty more to come.
