Fresh Hot Pizza | Residency | Haggerston 🔶 Pizza 📍 Haggerston, East London After a year spent popping up around East London, Fresh Hot Pizza have found a proper home inside the newly reopened @thefoxhackney. The move suits them. James Fox keeps the menu focused with seven pizzas, mixing it up with both classics & more adventures pies. We visited in the early days of their residency, and James and the team were brilliant - generous, easygoing, and keen for us to try far more pizzas than we could possibly finish. It already feels like a natural fit for the space, and in a moment when the pizza scene is crowded, they’re carving out something that feels distinctly their own. . The Fox 📍372 Kingsland Rd, London E8 4DA 🚇 Haggerston 🍺 £6.70 Mahou The Fox is located on busy Kingsland Road in Haggerston, East London. The nearest station is Haggerston. This historic pub was originally built in 1735, then rebuilt in 1881. The pub closed in 2018 but thankfully reopened in September this year giving it a new lease of life. In 1983, the back room of the pub was allegedly used for planning and stashing cash in the £6 million Security Express robbery in Shoreditch. This is a spacious one bar pub with a rustic, contemporary feel. The servery is located on the back wall, with some leather stools in front. The decor consists of a boarded floor and plenty of seating, including refectory-style tables with benches, wooden booths, and small circular tables with button stools. Around the walls is an eclectic mix of artworks and beer signage; I particularly liked the 1950s film poster in the snug on the left. For the warmer months, there are benches and barrels to perch on out front. The beer selection offers a good mix of well-known keg brands and local independent brews. I opted for a Mahou; my pint hit the spot, price point was above average. The food option here is pizza by @freshhotpizza1 .There’s a range of around seven pizzas plus unique specials, with most pizzas costing around £15. I arrived at 1pm on a bright Saturday lunchtime in November. The were a couple of lads sat at bar, and one fella having a pint and a smoke outside. The atmosphere was chilled and relaxed set to an excellent soulful jazzy soundtrack. The service was excellent, the chap who served me was friendly, engaging and courteous. The pub hosts live bands, House DJs, Traditional Irish music and a Quiz on Mondays. Great to see this historic pub back open and trading again. I enjoyed my time here, especially the easy-going, laid-back feel. That said, this pub really comes to life in the evenings with live entertainment and a late licence. History, a bit of skulduggery, uncertainty, and redemption — this pub has experienced it all. A top pub, and well worth a visit. Follow @thefoxhackney for updates. 📅 1st November 2025

Fresh, hot pizza 🍕 from @freshhotpizza1 now serving Weds-Sun at @thefoxhackney on Kingsland Road, E8 - - Fresh Hot Pizza is run by James, who has previously worked at Crisp Pizza and Dough Hands - a great pedigree - and this is his first proper residency after many short-term pop-ups around East London. - The pizza is incredibly good - thin, crispy and crunchy bases with really good toppings. I had the Dalston Hot, with San Marzano tomatoes, nduja, Calabrian chilli, and big dollops of Stracciatella cheese. - & did I mention that it was thin & crispy?
