Had the honour of speaking at the Creators for Development Summit (Creators Summit) panel where we explored an important conversation around "Content, Conscience, and accountability; what it means to be a creator in an election year."

If you’ve never sat in a room full of people who take content seriously as a tool for change, you’re missing something.

Nigeria is walking into another electioneering year.

And history keeps proving the same thing: elections aren’t only won at the ballot box, they’re shaped in comment sections, freestyles, skits, and timelines long before voting day. Creators are already in that fight, whether we call it that or not.

As a spoken word artist, I’ve spent years using poetry to talk about the Nigeria I see and the one I believe we can build. Being in a room full of people doing the same, in their own mediums, their own voices, didn’t just feel validating. It felt like proof. Proof that this work is bigger than any one of us, and that when creators show up with intention, culture moves.

If you create, write, film, sing, joke, design, this is your reminder: your platform is civic infrastructure. Use it like one.
