No seriously, pour cold water on me because I still cannot believe it.

Wait…
You mean I selected and invited 15 women in their 20s building careers across different industries out of everybody that applied for a career reset brunch and they actually came?

Like… willingly? 😭😂

A whole me?
The same girl who dropped out in 200 level.
The same girl who graduated with a 2:2 and convinced herself, Ehi, this professional career thing is not for you. Face your business and be going. 😂 In my mind, boardrooms were for serious people. I had already counted myself out before anyone else could.

The same girl who walked away from a business she had built for six years and decided to start all over again because… apparently I enjoy unnecessary adventures. 😭😂

Then one random day, I said, you know what? Let me organize a Career Reset Workshop.
Confidence is a funny thing because who exactly sent me? 😂

I had just FIVE DAYS. Five days to find a venue, get gifts, select participants, to basically prepare everything.

Then life said hold my cup😂😂
In the last five days, I lost all my money in an investment.
Hospital runs became part of my daily routine.
I barely slept. If sleep was paying rent, they would have changed the locks because I had less than 10 hours of sleep in almost 72 hours. 😭😂

At one point, I checked my account balance, closed the app, opened it again… just in case my bank wanted to surprise me.
They did not. 😂

I called my friends and said, Guys, I’m a failure. I’m canceling this event and with just one word, they said we are not canceling this.

Then yesterday happened.
People showed up.
Not just physically, they were present.
We laughed.

We had honest conversations.
We learned from one another.
We exchanged gifts
We took pictures.
We hugged like old friends.

And somewhere between all the laughter and conversations, all I could do was just smile because If you had told 200-level dropout Ehi that she’d one day host a room full of ambitious women talking about careers, she would’ve said, wrong Ehi.😂

I told a group of teenage girls recently that I was once a timid, shy teen who hated her body.

They were so surprised and shocked.
They laughed.
They thought I was joking.

But I wasn’t.

There was a time I couldn’t speak in front of people. I was the girl who kept her head down, second-guessed herself, and stayed hidden physically and emotionally. I didn’t like the way I looked, and I didn’t believe I had much to offer.

What changed?
I started building myself.

I learned new skills, public speaking, writing, volunteering, leading. I pushed myself to show up in rooms that made me nervous. I joined communities, read books, practiced, failed, got back up, and kept going.

Skills gave me confidence. Growth gave me direction. Purpose gave me a voice.

Today, I mentor teenagers who are on that same journey. And I always remind them: you don’t have to be the loudest in the room to make an impact. But you must start showing up for yourself consistently.

To every young person reading this:
✅ Learn something new.
✅ Build a skill.
✅ Stretch yourself.
✅ Choose growth, even when it’s uncomfortable.

You won’t transform overnight, but you will grow.
And one day, someone will look at you and say, “I want to be just like you.”
