The Great Southern in Gipsy Hill is basically our second home.
We run a variety of events there from full band concerts to our monthly jam nights with 50+ musicians taking the stage.

But we have a real soft spot for these stripped-back, intimate setups we build for our fortnightly Wednesday nights. Getting the sound balanced just right in a tight space makes all the difference.

Want to bring this kind of setup or a custom project to your venue? Drop us a DM or send over a message for a quick quote.

September rolls around and the summer draws to a close, but at the Great Jam Session at Gipsy Hill we’re just getting warmed up.
Presenting a month celebrating THE sound of the early 90’s, inspired by bands from the Seattle, Washington music scene and the Subpop label that pioneered “that Seattle sound”.
Why September? Well, we’re a sucker for some good alliteration - but this month also marks the 35th anniversary of the release of the most commercially successful album of this era, sporting 2 singles with multi-BILLION streams on Spotify alone. 🤯

We invite you all to pay homage to the bands that defined a generation - from the big 4 to some hidden gems and influences. We can’t wait to be Outshined by your incredible performances, so don’t be Down in a hole - be a Better Man and Dive into the Great Jam Session at the Great Southern, Gipsy Hill! 🤭🤘🏻

O hai! It's been a while, but there's been plenty happening in the background.

In the meantime, here's a snap from our last jam night. The next one will be the 28th of August, and we can't wait...

We’re having an exciting summer of live music at The Great Southern! ☀️🎸

Join us this Wednesday, 5th August, for another stellar lineup of high-quality live music and unmatched atmosphere right in the heart of Crystal Palace.

The garden will be open, the kitchen cooking, and the cold drinks flowing. Come soak up the summer vibes with us! 🍻✨

Here’s who we have lined up:

✨ Introducing Zoe, fresh to The Great Southern! This local musician has performed alongside ZZ Top and starred at The Isle of Wight Festival this year, enjoying a thriving presence on the live scene. Fresh off live radio promotion for her debut single ‘Captain in the Sea’, Zoe pairs velvet vocals with her Gretsch guitar, bringing her unique original songs with sass, style, and class. @zoe_websterartist

✨ Melanie Crew and Ross Palmer are a singer-songwriter duo from South-East London. Performing together since 2020, they’ve released an EP and two albums, including their latest record Some Other Stories on Gare Du Nord Records—described by Shindig! Magazine as “a quiet understated gem... intimate, unaffected magic.” Drawing on influences from Fairport Convention to Elliott Smith, and with airplay on BBC 6 Music, BBC Essex, and BBC Kent, their set contemplates the connections we make and break through beautiful, intimate storytelling. @melaniecrewandrosspalmer

Come grab a pint, enjoy the garden, and support live local music! 🥂

Our fortnightly live music nights are back! 🎸

This Wednesday, 29th July, we’ve got two brilliant acts taking the stage at The Great Southern for a top-tier night of live tunes.

The beer garden will be open, kitchen firing, and cold drinks flowing all evening. Here’s who’s playing:

Russell Swallow (@russellswallowmusic) Blending classic British songwriting with ambient Berlin soundscapes, Russell pairs shimmering electric guitar and lush electronics with soaring, atmospheric indie melodies.

Zakk (@zakk_music) Sitting right at the sweet spot between 70s vintage warmth and 90s Britpop grit, Zakk delivers heavy-hitting, heart-on-your-sleeve choruses made for the overthinkers.

Free entry as always. Come grab a pint in the garden and catch some great music! 🍻
