Thank you to everyone who came to see me fight Saturday night for TFL5. It was not the performance I wanted to give, but challenge is required to grow and an opportunity to rise up. Thank you to my coach and team at @thehammerforge for believing me in this journey, building me up, having my back, and training with me (even in a weird simultaneous surgery recovery + fight camp combo)

There are some health considerations I need to address, but will not cover on this post as I do not want to take away from the fact that I gained experience and feedback, and there is much to learn and grow in terms of skill development. Congratulations to Nyla, you showcased your skill and won by unanimous decision. Thank you @traumafightleague for putting on this event and making this matchup happen 💪

August Recap, aka “the rebuild” 🔥

First week of August I had just passed the 3 week post-surgery mark, meaning I could start slowly ramping up my lifting. The second week, it was deemed that I’m not at risk of tearing anything/getting a hernia and was fully cleared for sport by doc 🥳

The past few weeks, I’ve been able to quickly ramp up and get back into strength and conditioning, sparring, running, and was even able to participate in NJJF Worlds 💪

This month definitely came with some hiccups. I did have flare-ups of various conditions and was diagnosed with yet another condition. However, years of this “health journey” has taught me to adapt and recognize whatever comes does not have the power to dampen my spirit. I am truly excited for this next month’s MMA Debut as well as some other athletic pursuits in the near future 👀

Btw enjoy the audio in slide 4 of me talking myself into having some self-restraint in getting back into lifting 🤣

Jiu jitsu worlds for newbreed recap.
Dad came to spectate so you already knew we couldn’t tap.
“This guy crazy. He think I gonna tap in front of father?” - Khabib
Didn’t go the way I wanted it to, but still was fun. 1 head butt, 1 eye poke, and a few twisted fingers later (as well as opponents running away for 2 minutes and not engaging to maintain a 1 point lead), my first silver. Don’t worry, I already won gold multiple times before.
