📣 Golden Folk returns to the Grey Eagle this Tuesday, July 14th (as "Golden Folk Gives")! This one will be special. See our last post where we announced more details, but in short, we will be raising funds for our dear friend Doug Carr (@soft.talk.only) as he navigates the expenses that come along with a rare chronic health condition called acromegaly. Doug has helped curate an excellent lineup and we can't wait to support our buddy. Doug's GoFundMe link is also in our bio if you want to read more there too! You can also send Doug a Venmo for $20 for a raffle entry for 2 free days recording at the dreamiest @outtherestudioswnc. Doug's Venmo handle is "@soft-talk-only"! (Scroll to the end of the slideshow for a tasty surprise from @thehillclimbers 🌮🌮🌮) Here are the artists from last month in the order they performed and the people who made the evening possible. Another big week of music at @zadiesmarket this fine holiday week. @caseydriessen's Wednesday Bazaar residency rolls on. Casey will be joining us on the first Wednesday of each month through October to bring his singular fiddle playing and a bevy of effects pedals to entertain us in Marshall on the banks of the French Broad. The Wednesday Bazaar is a musical residency where fiddle loops, wild grooves, sonic oddities, and vibrant rhythms mix together in a swirl of color and sound. He'll be taking us, musically, from Marshall to outer space and back, with plenty of detours along the way. No two nights are alike... Come ready to trade the ordinary for a carnival of the unexpected. Thursday we've got @jacksongrimmmusic and @madelineatthemoment. They were hanging out in Ireland playing fiddle tunes a few weeks ago and this week they'll be playing fiddle tunes for you here on the French Broad. Jackson is one of WNC's hardest working musicians, a songwriter, educator, bandleader, and sideman, all done with style and a smile. He plays in SUSTO Stringband, Holler Choir, and many other bands. Madeline is currently living in the UK, a Rhodes scholar, has her own band called The Wilder Flower, and we're happy that she's made a trip back to WNC this week. Friday, Luke Mitchell of @thehighdivers and @goldenretreater is joining us to get us warmed up for the town's Independence Day celebration. Luke plays from 3-5 and music kicks off on the island at 5! He's also elected to make it a fundraiser for his kids' preschool, Mountain Breeze Preschool in Marshall! He'll be donating his proceeds from the show so come on out, have some fun, and help the teachers out! You've seen him behind the board mixing almost every show here at Zadie's, so come on out and support him as he returns to the patio stage! We'll be back for more next week. Every Thursday (and sometimes more) with wonderful original live music, food, and drinks from 6-8pm, rain or shine. Never a cover, always a good time!

After sharing these videos here one-by-one for over a year, we can finally say that every single one has been released to the world. We’ve gathered every session into a digital archive on our website, organized by vinyl side so you can listen and watch your way through the record (link in bio). This series has become an incredible time capsule of song and community, and we thank all of those involved in the process from the bottom of our hearts. Physical copies of the triple LP are still available at @oldmarshalljail, @zadiesmarket in Marshall, NC, and @harvestrecordsavl in West Asheville.

Looking back at 2016. It was an interesting year. Lost of shows, friends, collaboration and being young and dumb.
