POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

📚 What do you get when you send a hugely anticipated ARC copy of @fmcfaddenauthor “The Witch” across thousands of miles to die hard McFans?

😈 You get a Coven of reader witches who each devour these pages in a few days time and then yap all about how much this one pulled us so far in, we couldn’t put it down!!!

🔮”The Witch” truly unifies historical fiction and the classic “Freida” suspense we all know and love, and somehow finds a way to throw that twist across three centuries of story lines!

⭐️ I cannot recommend this one more! Add it to your October TBR now!!! “The Witch” releases October 6th, and please come back here and tell me your thoughts!!! I can’t wait to talk about this one over and over!

💜 Insanely huge thank you to @carriereadsthem_all for putting together our little traveling ARC coven, conjuring up the spells needed to make this happen, and for trusting all of us with this gem of a book as we all shipped it from state to state over the past month!!!

Review of The Witch by Freida McFadden

Pub date: October 6, 2026

I was SO thrilled that I was able to receive, read, and pass along an arc of The Witch by Freida McFadden! A huge thank you to Carrie for starting #TheTravelingArc for this amazing spooky thriller. I was able to read it along with my reading partners Jeanie, Lauren, and Kristina and it was such a fun experience. Now on to the review!

If you’ve read any other reviews of this book yet you will notice many folks saying this is different from her other books. I completely agree. There are historical fiction components along with the thrilling mystery we know and love. But I loved it just as much if not more than previous novels. The story telling is fantastic with memorable and significant characters. I loved the dual timelines with intertwining stories. It would be impossible to find another book that is better for the upcoming spooky season!

Synopsis:

When Julia Barlow loses her job and her apartment, she has nowhere left to go but Pemberton, her family’s sprawling seventeenth-century estate in rural Massachusetts. Officially, she’s there to check in on her aging grandmother. Unofficially, she’s hoping the old house will give her a place to disappear.

Instead, Pemberton begins to unravel her.

Every night, the grandfather clock stops at exactly 3:41 a.m. The lights flicker without warning. And a disembodied voice cries for help outside Julia’s bedroom door.

As Julia digs into the house’s dark history, she uncovers the story of a woman executed for witchcraft in 1692―and realizes the past may not be finished with Pemberton yet. When decades of family lies begin to surface, Julia must confront a terrifying truth: Pemberton may be haunted by women whose voices refuse to stay silent..

Hello all, I went into my library and I borrowed three more books. I am totally obsessed with how the photo turned out. I love the colours and the art work is amazing. The problem of visiting the library is that there are many beautiful books to choose from.

I was thinking to organise a little challenge. I am going to tag my beautiful friends @theartofmummying
@bookworm_gang
@sasbooknook .

If you are interested, upload a photo with three library books that you have borrowed. Tag three other friends to continue this challenge with us. Don’t forget to tag @maltalibraries and don’t forget to tag me as well so I can see your beautiful books. Consider yourself tagged if you are seeing this post. Let’s start this challenge together.
