On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we want to name the gap between the mental health care Indigenous families need and the culturally informed services they can actually access. Generational trauma shapes how children see the world and who they trust when they walk into your classroom, and school systems never built space for those experiences.

We also want to name the resilience. As trauma-informed educators, we know that trauma passes through generations, and so do strength and the capacity to heal. Indigenous families continue to break cycles and create new patterns of connection and care.

All children and adults deserve spaces to heal.

We are here to support you and your community. Comment “MENTAL HEALTH” for the link to our free guide, Beyond Awareness: BIPOC Mental Health, Cultural Stigma, and a Way Forward. 💜🔗

Education is power. Educate yourself on Indigenous history and culture. Attend local gatherings. Support Indigenous artists, businesses and events. Have conversations. Listen. Learn. Not just for one day, but every day.

On September 30th, wear orange to remember the children who never made it home. 🧡
