πŸ“ 10772 Chalon Rd | $32,500,000 - MAISON DE LA REINE: Timelessness is not a style. It is a quality. Commissioned in 1928 by Alphonzo E. Bell, founder of Bel-Air, from Mark Daniels, the architect who drew Bel-Air's streets and gave the neighborhood its form, having already designed Pebble Beach, the 17-Mile Drive, and the Bel-Air Bay Club. Later the home of Her Majesty Queen Noor of Jordan, and later still of producer Steven Reuther, of Dirty Dancing and Face/Off, who added the cinema and editing suite to make movies in the home. Five years of restoration by Studio Berosso have not preserved this house. They have continued it, in the spirit of Hollywood Regency, the glamour, the entertaining, the indoor-outdoor ease that defined Los Angeles at its most confident. The man who built Bel Air also built himself a mansion. Alphonzo Bell was an Olympic medalist and oilman before developing the famed Los Angeles enclave. In 1928, he commissioned this 10,600-square-foot estate, which would later count Queen Noor of Jordan and Hollywood producer Steven Reuther among its residents. Nearly a century later, the restored estate is back on the market for $32.5 million. Take a look inside, then see how that price stacks up against today’s Bel Air megamansions at the link in bio. Great sign for the market. Busy week. 😁 Skipping through SO many open houses across Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Malibu, Brentwood, Venice, and Pacific Palisades this week. As always, The Geiss Team is out there doing our job as Sales VP in Title Insurance at Ticor Title, supporting agents through every step of a closing. Looking forward to a long weekend to recharge before the next one. Also don’t miss the Health and Wellness event happening September 22 to 25 in Malibu. More details to come, I’ll post separately.
