@thekeewest enjoying great music at the French Quarters. She is still celebrating graduating from @dallascollegetx with an associate degree last week. Her career goal is to become a lawyer to fight social injustices. @nlc_trio, we are proud of all the obstacles you overcame to get to this point.

Justice for Felita Bailey is not just a demand—it’s a necessity!

We call on the Amarillo Police Department to conduct a thorough investigation and bring transparency to this tragic case.

Dylan Black must be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law. Together, we can fight for justice for Felita and make it clear that every life deserves protection, respect, and accountability.

Stand with us and demand justice!

Please join us in calling District Attorney Jason Herring urging him to arrest, charge, prosecute and convict Dylan Zane Black before he kills again.

***If they ask for a case number***

Felita Jovon Bailey, known as her loved ones and family as “Fe” was just 25 years old when her life was tragically lost.

Felita was a young, vibrant, intelligent young black woman that had her whole life ahead of her, but as we know, we still live in a #BlackStateOfEmergency in Texas, where black and brown people are literally targeted and hunted.

The alleged shooter in Felitas murder is roaming free and terrorizing witnesses and people in his own community where he shot Felita. 21 year old Dylan Zane Black was initially arrested and charged with murder following an investigation where his clothes and murder weapon were recovered, unsurprisingly, charges were dropped by Amarillo DA Jason Herring following what they called “lack of evidence”.

It is far too often that black folks in Texas and around this country never see justice.

Join us on this fight as we continue to shed light on the injustices that continue to plague our communities, especially in rural parts of our state.

Felita deserves Justice, their family deserves accountability, our communities deserve to be free of fear!
Please share Felitas story with everyone. This is on us!

Homelessness in Dallas and Collin Counties is a complex issue that demands action from all of us.

While there’s been progress—2023 data shows a 4% drop in homelessness and a 14% decrease in unsheltered individuals, certain groups like youth and veterans are facing rising numbers.

The reality is that homelessness impacts us all, with marginalized communities bearing the brunt of the crisis.

The financial costs are staggering—millions are spent annually on healthcare, emergency services, and the criminal justice system. For example, hospitalizations alone cost nearly $50 million each year and an estimated **$21 million** annually to incarcerate individuals who are homeless. Many of these people are arrested for minor offenses like loitering or public intoxication—behaviors often criminalized due to their living conditions. Instead of receiving help, these individuals end up in jail, where the cycle of homelessness and incarceration continues, costing taxpayers and perpetuating their struggles.

These numbers aren’t just statistics—they represent real people struggling every day. To truly address homelessness, we need to shift our mindset.

Housing isn’t just shelter—it’s the foundation for dignity, health, and stability. Initiatives like the proposal to house 2,700 individuals in Dallas and Collin Counties are a step in the right direction, but we must continue to push for humane, accountable solutions that treat people with compassion.

Homelessness is a public health and human rights issue, and it’s on all of us to challenge misconceptions, break taboos, and build a community where everyone has a safe place to call home.

The fight is far from over—but together, we can make a difference.
