This is behavior management at it's best! He didn't wait until there was a full on meltdown taking place. He caught him as he was revving up and did just a little guided breathing and the tantrum was averted. Kudos to this little guy and to their parents.

Parents, educators, administrators, school psychologists, school mental health providers and policy makers take a look! This book focuses on solutions to social justice problems such as racially-biased standardized testing and criminalization of Black girls in schools through the common practic of harsh school discipline. In her work, @monique.w.morris dicusses #pushout, which is finally getting some attention and action. To be part of this action, at least two chapters in this book directly discuss solutions to end pushout for Black girls! Chapter 8 was co-authored by yours truly and the founder of @thekeyconsult. Chapter 9, by Cherrell Green, is a powerful echo to the point I was making in a recent Instagram conversation about Black girls and school discipline. Both chapters are must-reads! Check out the full-text using the link in my bio.

I'm excited to announce my third chapter (and second co-authored one) is available for public access for free in pdf format! Link for the the text is in my bio!
