April couldn’t have ended in a better way 💐📚🍝
…here’s my last week’s recap!

@samsnaps.jpeg came over to visit all the way from London - and what a fun time we had together! Between traditional Bolognese tagliatelle, endless bookshop crawls, and scenic walks around Parma and Bologna, the past few days have been so eventful (in the best way) and full of little moments I wish I could relive already 🥹

Fun fact about the yellow Mondadori collection: Il Giallo Mondadori, launched in 1929, is Italy’s longest-running mystery series, defining the genre and originating the term “giallo” (yellow) due to its iconic bright yellow cover design. Founded by Arnoldo Mondadori to introduce imported detective fiction, it has published classic crime fiction from artists like Agatha Christie, becoming a household name and cultural staple 📖

💭 What have you been up to? What’s been the highlight of your last week of April?

1,000 bookish souls in just two months… how did that happen? 🥹📚🤎

I opened this little corner at the end of February simply to share my love for reading, publishing, cosy routines and beautiful bookshelves - and somehow, it became a space 1,000 of you wanted to stay in.

In these two months, I’ve shared:
☕️ weekly reading recaps & chaotic TBRs
🌷 warm, cosy corners and soft spring days
📚 honest reviews, classics & literary gems
🎧 my first audiobook era
👩🏻‍💻 publishing chats, templates & creative ideas
🤎 lots of yapping in the comments

I still can’t believe something that started so quietly has grown this fast. Thank you for every like, save, comment, DM and kind word - you’ve made this feel like home.

If you’re new here: welcome to my cosy little bookish corner. There’s always room for one more ☕️🤎

This was the most devastating book I’ve ever read.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5)

A Thousand Splendid Suns traces the story of two Afghan women whose lives interlace through fate. As the narrative unfolds, we watch these women silently endure the most gut-wrenching and crushing circumstances - from the Soviet occupation to Taliban oppression, alongside deeply personal hardships. I simply adored how their friendship blossomed and strengthened over time as a way to unite and survive - it truly felt as though they were each other’s safe harbour.

Hosseini has this incredible power to transform the raw brutality of anarchy and gender violence into such a beautifully written, heartbreaking tale of resilience, hope and sacrifice - painting a vivid portrait of Afghanistan from the 1960s to the early 2000s.

My heart goes out to Laila and Mariam, who will forever be etched in my memory, and to every woman who has endured even a fraction of their struggles ❤️‍🩹

Am I the only one who starts feeling alive again the second the days get warmer and the flowers begin to bloom? 👀🌸

This week felt like a little reset - basically me trying to tick off my unofficial spring bucket list:
👩🏻‍💻 completed the Inside Publishing with Pan Macmillan virtual course and got my certificate of achievement!
🌸 saw the prettiest cherry blossom petals covering the ground at the park
🏡 read in the garden whenever the sun came out
🎤 played Michael Jackson vinyls on repeat while I get way too excited for the movie release this week (please feel free to yap with me in the comments!!!)
🛍️ spotted the most exciting 99p Kindle deals (should I make a post about this?🤔)
📩 received two digital ARCs from @delrai_edizioni and got ridiculously excited

💭 How’s your week been? Any little highlight worth sharing?

Goodbye March - hello, April! 💕🌷

This month has gone by so fast, under the tunes of Porch Light and Orange Juice. I’ve read quite a lot of pages, picked up my first audiobook ever and received my first ARC - and honestly, it’s been such a cosy, chaotic reading month. 🤎📚

I also can’t believe I’ve reached almost 600 followers in the span of one month! I opened this Bookstagram only in late February to share my love for reading, publishing and all things cosy - and somehow, 600 people have decided to follow me along and yap with me about books 🥹 so grateful for all the amazing bookish friends I’ve made and the ones who will join later!
Excited to share more creative content and (hopefully) get around the International Booker Prize longlist in April!

💭 What are your April hopefuls?

Flash news: I tried an audiobook for the first time ever and ACTUALLY liked it 🤭

I’ve always presumed that audiobooks would bore me to death and that I’d end up doing something else after 2 minutes. This week, my main reading format was exactly that - an audiobook, beautifully narrated and worth the hype, might I add! Remarkably Bright Creatures was the best book to kick off my audiobook era 🎧

My weekly highlights?
🐙 listened to an octopus talking about humans (and how stupid we are, LOL)
💳 visited my local library after a long time
🍹 aperitivo time under the sun - seasonal depression is almost over!
👩🏻‍💻 created my first templates on Canva - coming up soon! 🤭

💭 How’s your week been? And what’s your take on audiobooks?
