My kitchen isn’t always tidy, but it’s where some of the best memories are made. Baking treats for the kindergarten picnic; these are the days I’ll miss. ❤️

Chocolate Bar Treats from:
A Very Prairie Christmas Bakebook

Triple Chocolate Brownies (honestly, best brownie recipe I’ve ever found!) from:
The Best of Chef at Home by Michael Smith and online.

Next up we have the “matching” piece to my last post! A Peace Rose with ivy and a bee for @thekitchenmagpie 🐝
We added this to her calf piece that we did back in 2023! (I can’t even believe it’s been that long 😅)
So, lines on the rose are healed, colour is fresh, and the rest is about 2.5 years healed 👍🏻

My local library is small. It’s actually the same library that’s in my jr/high school (now my girls’ school too 🫶🏼) but it’s part of a much larger regional library system that allows me to access books from other libraries all over my province (I’m in Alberta).

The best part is IT’S FREE. Memberships cost NOTHING. I have access to unlimited books to learn, create, enjoy from and disappear into and I don’t have to pay a dime for it.

Nothing in this world is free anymore. And certainly nothing that gives you something back. If you don’t already, show your local library some love so it doesn’t go extinct 📚🤍

If you love the library, show me some love 👇🏼

Looking back, I’m really happy with my cookie boxes! This year I mixed a handful of old favs with some new ones — Crunchy Pecan Praline Shortbread (@susanspungen), Confetti Squares (PB/Marshmallow) (@dinnerwithjulie), Chocolate Gingerbread Cookie Sandwich with Bailey’s Buttercream (@thejamlab) , Gingerbread Cookies with Rum Butter Glaze(@helen_goh_bakes @ottolenghi), Pistachio-Crusted Icebox Cookies (@kingarthurbaking), Golden chocolate and Biscoff truffles (@sainsburysmag), Saltine Toffee Bark, and Chocolate Kiss Meringue Cornflake Cookies (both @thekitchenmagpie — went with the kiss version this year instead of cherry). Baking is one of my favourite things to do and, it’s nice to be a little extra during the holidays. 💗🥳💁🏻‍♀️ (DM me if you want to know where to locate any of these recipes I’ve used!)
