Payton Bernstine

Over the past few years, I’ve noticed something, many brides wish they had the opportunity to be photographed in their dress outside of the wedding day.

The pace of a wedding is different. It moves quickly. It’s emotional, unpredictable. And while that has its own beauty, it doesn’t always allow for a more intentional, artful study of the person wearing the dress.

A dedicated studio session changes that.

For this shoot, we brought together an incredible team to create that space for Payton, photographing her in two different dresses, with the time and attention to truly explore the portrait.

Dresses by Platinum Bridal
Hair and makeup by Katie Klein
And for the first time in the studio, we documented the process on film with Marissa Cooper

What we created together is a collection of timeless, fine-art portraits - and this is a small look into how it came together.

Tomorrow, I’ll share a selection of the final images.

Payton, Katie, Marissa, and Tori - an honor to work alongside you.

Summer to fall ‘23

life has been crazy busy, but i’ll be damned if i don’t share moments from #CampPigeon aka: @mads_pigeon’s 30th f*cking birthday !!! 🏕️🐦🎈 this party was a BLAST and i wish it could’ve gone on twice as long (but alas! we had Hot Girl Meg to go see! and cry during!!) 🤪

there’s nothing quite like seeing your bestie so happy. especially when they are so deserving. 💚 i’ve heard Maddy talk about her 30th birthday basically since we were 22 lmao 🙃 and this is a girl who never asks for much (and alwaaaays does the most for everyone else!) so we all wanted to make this day extremely special. ✨

from surprise (wrinkle free!) custom t-shirts to a whole ass game of jeopardy dedicated to her interests 🙋🏼‍♀️ to Brenda’s catering for brunch to the decorations set up to the delicious spicy margs 🍹 to the gifts and VIBES galore—this could not have been as perfect as it was without the group of girlies and guys surrounding this woman. 💞

we all have been lucky enough to experience Maddy’s huge heart, her endless jokes, her loyalty to those she loves (and her cat!), her passion for very specific things, and her realness as a human being. 💛 she is down to earth, deeply caring, a bundle of fun, a hand to hold in dark times, and the only person i have a matching tattoo with ❤️‍🔥 because she’s that amazing. it was clear how much love we all have for this girl!! people went out of their way to make this birthday memorable & special. 💫

shout out to the party planning crew extraordinaire @sjfalard @haleywandro @_beigely_ @rosheemaha @msdundos @kalbertucci @notproper and special thanks to the folks who also helped a shit ton day-of @saihe @ericsfitnessinsta @maya_levvv @asapdeodecagon @huntfortrevor @sirwilliamthefourth !! 🥰 and to everyone who came, played their heart out in Maddy Jeopardy, brought drinks, helped set up, and made her feel loved!

MAY YOUR 30’S BE THE BEST DECADE YET BY A LONG SHOT, MADS 💚🤎💛 LOVE YOU SO MUCH.
