Visiting @thelightdurham this week? Make sure to stop by our new display especially for #NationalAdoptionWeek. Our regional adoption agency, Adopt Coast to Coast , has been working with children to create a series of colourful artworks which express what adoption means to them. Their artwork has been transformed into 15 flags and strings of bunting, creating a powerful celebration of their voices and experiences. The flags will be on display until Saturday 24 October, so don’t miss the chance to see this amazing project!

Huge congratulations to everyone at The Light, Durham’s new cultural destination! ✨ I had a blast at all the events: enjoying the incredible VIP launch; talking about my work and meeting local artists at the Artist Salon; and curating the first After Dark with Dreaming with Light, Drawing with Light and Dancing with Light ✨ It was wonderful to see this a new cultural space come alive, filled with people, art, light, conversations and dancing. I loved meeting everyone. Thank you so much for coming 💛

Absolutely flashed to see my work in this catalogue. Massive thanks to @nkhowes @spacecommando @tonyguillan and the venue @thelightdurham My work would not be possible without the support of 'my' computer shops. They have collected bags and bags of broken screens for me over the years. Thank you for that! A shout-out to: Michael at Laptop & Computer Repair on East Street, The Team behind Sales & Repair at 306 Walworth Rd, Shabaz @all_about_laptops on Peckham Highstreet, and the entire team at @technorepairofficial on Catford Bridge. 🙏❤️💪 you are the best. I have also been supported by several other shops over the years, some of which have disappeared since. Thanks to each and everyone who has been positive about the project, and kept me going. #lightinstallation #contemporaryart #thelight #wiped #

Yesterday I attended a talk at The Light Durham, by three Jerwood Fellows, on developing writing. It was superb. An event held by New Writing North, we learnt about motivations, themes and poverty Vs prose. #iamwriting #indieauthor #newauthor #bookstagram

An autumn evening and afternoon in Durham, and an excuse for me to have a play around with the new carousel feature on carousels. We were invited to @thelightdurham’s first ever after dark event last Friday so we decided to make a couple of days of it. After an evening at The Light we felt we needed to pop in and see @thestory.durham where I got a CUTE Tote bag. This building is gorgeous, and it has a lovely little cafe and exhibition area. Then we were off to the Oriental Museum, which was just a short walk from The Story. This is a University museum with a small gift shop. Did you know we can make fun carousels on the @instagram edits app now? 👀 I can’t wait to test it more and get a little more creative.
