POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

One of the best parts of being in this creator space is the number of doors I get to walk through where, admittedly, I sometimes feel like I have no business being.

New York Fashion Week was one of those moments.

But I’ve learned that the most interesting thing about gaining access to these rooms isn’t always what’s happening in them. It’s who you meet once you’re inside.

That’s where people like Sterling Dio and Francesca Serafin come in.
—> @thestudiomayfair x @serafinesilk

Two incredibly accomplished women carving out their own space in the fashion industry. What struck me wasn’t simply what they’ve accomplished, but the conviction behind it…the stories, sacrifices, and experiences that shaped the way they move through their respective worlds.

They welcomed me into their space, shared pieces of those stories with me, and gave me the opportunity to understand a little more about what drives them.

There’s something special about meeting people at the intersection of ambition and purpose. People who aren’t simply occupying space, but quietly expanding it for whoever comes next.

I went to New York Fashion Week expecting to see beautiful clothes and interesting people.

I left far more interested in the stories behind them.

Maybe that’s the real privilege of getting into rooms you think you have no business being in…every once in a while, you meet someone who reminds you exactly why it was worth walking through the door.

November was one of those months where the studio felt extra alive. Cozy bedrooms came together, new textures and colors made their way onto our moodboards, and we spent plenty of time behind the scenes styling, adjusting, tweaking, and laughing our way through photoshoots. We also squeezed in a little inspiration hunting, a little showroom wandering, and a few “wow, we need to use this somewhere” moments that only designers truly understand.

Some pieces were bold, some were soft, and some were just plain fun… which is exactly how we like our months to look. We also shared our November newsletter, where we introduced a new service we’re excited to bring into the new year.

Now the holiday stretch is somehow already here, and we’re feeling energized heading into the final weeks of the year. If you’re starting to think about refreshing your home in 2025, we’d love to help bring your ideas to life.

A few unforgettable days in New York with @kravetinc —one of the most iconic names in textiles.

From intimate dinners with fellow designers to touring their archives and seeing the craftsmanship behind their fabrics, this trip was a reminder of why we love what we do.

Design is about more than materials—it’s about the people, the history, and the creative energy that shapes every space. Grateful for the opportunity to be part of this inspiring experience!

AAPIDA x NYSID had the incredible honor of touring the Kravet Archive in Woodbury, NY last month!

Kravet ( @kravetinc ) graciously opened their doors to our club. Special thanks to Lina ( @thelinaedit ), Archivist at Kravet, who gave an informative tour of the archive and shared with us rare glimpses into centuries-old textiles from across Asia, Europe, and other continents around the world. These fabrics hold stories woven through time, with some pieces being true museum-quality treasures. 🧵🌏

The collection sparked so much inspiration and reminded us of the rich, cross-cultural influence in interior design.

Huge thank you to Kravet for this unforgettable experience and for celebrating heritage through design.

Last week, I had the honor of presenting findings from my sabbatical research at the faculty awards celebration. So grateful for the opportunity to access extraordinary archives and sites in both Paris and New York during my travels last summer. ✨📚
