I’m about to turn 45 and I genuinely feel and look the best I ever have. For someone who considers herself pretty confident, I have a surprising number of fears.

Some are superficial. Some are much deeper. Some I’m actively working through. And apparently we’re just putting them on Instagram now.

I used to think confidence meant not being afraid. I’m starting to realize it might just mean being afraid and doing it anyway.

So here are six things I’m actually afraid of.

I’ve worked really hard to feel strong and confident in my body. And even though I know my worth has nothing to do with my size, the fear of losing that progress is still there.

More success. More travel. More beautiful experiences. More money. More freedom. A bigger life. Sometimes women are expected to be grateful for what they have instead of admitting they still want more.

I have so many ideas. So many things I still want to create, experience and accomplish. Sometimes I wonder if there will ever be enough time to make them happen.

It’s much easier to quietly dream about something than to publicly go after it. Because once people know what you’re trying to do, they can also watch you not succeed and judge you and that scares the $&@! out of me.

I’ve worked really hard to build a life I love, and sometimes I’m terrified of how quickly life can change. My family, my marriage, our home, our health, the freedom to travel and experience the world. I know none of it is guaranteed, and sometimes loving my life this much makes me afraid of losing it.

This is embarrassingly specific, but I’ve worked pretty hard to be cool and funny, and sometimes I still worry that I said the wrong thing at the wrong time to the wrong person. Or worse… that I’m actually annoying and no one told me.

So I’m going to keep trying. Keep wanting more. Keep taking up space. Keep doing things that scare me.

Once I made it through the withdrawals, I realized something very important: I still love shopping. Daily. I love hunting for sales. I love the anticipation. I love when the packages arrive. I love opening them. When I’m happy or sad, when it’s raining or sunny. Shopping makes me happy.

So really, I see it as free therapy. Which ultimately makes shopping an investment in myself.

As Coco Chanel said, “The best things in life are free. The second best are very expensive.”

Always feel most beautiful when I’m with David. On vacation. With a tan. And amazingly curated outfits. At 5 star hotels. In a suite with a private pool. And all I can eat and drink. I’m definitely spoiled.

Anywayssss didn’t know I could wear orange but a tan makes everything look good.

It’s summer until all my Summer in Egypt photos are posted. Because as much as I’m excited for fall outfits and apple orchards, pumpkin donuts and of course my favorite holiday of the year, hello HALLOWEEN, astronomical summer doesn’t end until September 22nd. Which means I have a lot of editing ahead of me 🩵

Everything I would wear to the US Open If I was a spectator. Not that I’m good enough to actually be seeded to play in a tournament, but you never know. A different style for my multiple personalities and always manifesting an invite to The Ralph Lauren Suite. Or any box honestly, I blame David Forrester for introducing me to the suite life. Anyways, if you want links to anything especially the Chill Pill fan that anyone attending any events in New York needs cus it’s been 90 degrees and humid let me know.

Hot Sale Alert! Jcrew is having a major sale and my summer outfits are almost gone! Truly in love with the JCrew Gemma sculpting one piece bathing suit! It really snatched my waist and was so comfortable for walking around the resort and laying by the pool! Will be buying in more colors! Was between size 8 and 10. Went down for a tighter fit! I love anything blue and white and this collection did not disappoint.
