This is it! I’m officially done working for the year and am going on maternity leave for a while, but before I wrap up the year I wanted to show all the hand lettered logo and branding projects I had the wonderful opportunity to work on this year. New logo! Last week I finished up a branding project that I’ve been working on for a while now for @theloadedtrunk_ and I couldn’t be more excited with how it turned out. If you want to treat yourself, go over to @theloadedtrunk_ and spend some time just enjoying all the beautiful stuff that Jonna has created over there. It’s a space where travel, design, food and culture all come together in a creative and wonderful way, and getting to play a role in designing the branding was an absolute pleasure. This project consisted of a series of hand lettered logos, brand colors, and icons. The photography here is all by @theloadedtrunk_

Every Memorial Day weekend the charming town of Spring City, Utah, hosts a tour of historic homes and an art auction. It’s a bit of a drive, but I love going down to this picturesque little town, listed as a National Register Historic District, and going through a selection of homes from the 1800’s.

Isabelle and I loved our stay at @thehamiltonturnerinn in Savannah. I was enamored with the hand painted blue and white murals by local artist @bobchristiandecorativeart and, of course, ALL the lovely design details. ⁣ ⁣ I hadn’t seen historic Anaglypta wallpaper since my first design employer, a British designer in the Berkshires, introduced it to me in 1994. It looks right at home in this gorgeous mansion, dating from 1873.⁣ ⁣ Blue and white wallpaper in the china cabinet? I love it 💙⁣ ⁣ The mansion has a storied past. It was once the hub of social gatherings in Savannah (and had a cameo in the Clint Eastwood film “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil”). ⁣ ⁣ As snow still caps the Wasatch peaks, I’ve welcomed spring indoors by filling my home with flowers nestled among treasured finds from my global wanderings 🌸 Each vignette tells a story of discovery—the perfect blend of old and new, near and far.⁣ ⁣ 1 - 3 - Fragrant lilies and pink jasmine on a vintage Japanese silk obi from Tokyo, alongside an antique Crown Ducal Blue Chintz plate found during a rainy day in England with my mom. A stone Buddha from Southeast Asia and a Bhutanese prayer wheel complete this dining room corner.⁣ ⁣ 4, 5 - Coral pink tulips in an antique English Jasperware pitcher—a recent Charleston find whose vivid blue captured my heart immediately.⁣ ⁣ 6, 7 - Daffodils in a handblown glass urn, paired with a traditional Welsh blanket purchased directly from artisans at the historic Trefriw woolen mill.⁣ ⁣ 8, 9 - My St Patrick’s Day arrangement 🍀 features Oxalis “Iron Cross” (symbolizing good luck) in a green glass vase from my grandmother, who lived nearly 104 remarkable years. Hellebores bloom nearby in an antique English cream jar. Handcrafted mushrooms from artisans in Provence, Morocco, and Utah create an unexpected global conversation. A Moroccan woodcarver’s candlestick from the souks of Essaouira and a hand formed vessel from an LA-based ceramicist complete this worldly collection. Hand blocked Indian tablecloth sourced in Singapore.⁣ ⁣ 10, 11 - Craspedia and spiked speedwell in my favorite marbled glass vase. Wedding gift candlesticks (33 years ago!). The oyster plate just might be the beginning of a collection of oyster plates, a new obsession. I bought this lovely one at @southerncrafted in Savannah. The potter is @bridgmanpottery in Memphis.⁣ ⁣ 12 - 14 - Lilies and jasmine in a pale lavender vintage vase found for my daughter’s wedding, atop an antique English plate.⁣ ⁣ These spring blooms nestled among my travel treasures remind me that beauty lies in the stories they carry—each piece given new life with each season’s flowers.⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ #collectedhome #springblooms #antiques #traveler #artisanmade #myhome

Rug sourcing in Marrakech—one of my favorite parts of the design journey. These handwoven vintage beauties, crafted by Berber women using all-natural dyes, are each a reflection of the weaver’s imagination. No two are ever alike. I’m truly in my element when hunting for rugs around the world, finding pieces that tell a story. I’m in Morocco sourcing rugs for design clients. Berber tribal rugs are a labor of love, hand woven by Berber women in the Atlas Mountains. They are full of symbols, talismans for protection, hopes and wishes. LOCAL FLAVOR | We are crazy for the incredible olive oil, vinegar, gourmet foods and gifts @mountaintownoliveoil. We also love their “Next Course” cooking classes in collaboration with @deelicious_pc! Don’t miss out on upcoming classes on March 15, 21st, and 28th- there are still a few spots available! Here is one of our favorite recipes from a “Next Course” class: LEMON BALSAMIC GREEK CHICKEN SALAD INGREDIENTS: 2-3 medium chicken breasts boneless & skinless 1 tablespoon MTOO ROTISSERIE CHICKEN BLEND 1 tablespoon MTOO LEMON OLIVE OIL 1 small red onion halved and thinly sliced Kosher salt 1/8 cup MTOO SICILIAN LEMON BALSAMIC VINEGAR ¼ cup chopped fresh mint and dill Freshly ground pepper 1/4 cup MTOO DILL OLIVE OIL 12 to 14 small vine-ripened tomatoes quartered 1/2 cup kalamata olives halved and pitted 5 Persian cucumbers or 1 ½ English cucumbers 1 4- ounce block Greek feta cheese INSTRUCTIONS: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Season the chicken liberally with the spice blend and let sit for 30 minutes or up to 24 hours for the best flavor. Heat an ovenproof grill pan to high heat and brush with the olive oil. Brown the chicken on one side and then flip and move to the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes or until cooked through. Set aside. Trim the ends of the cucumber, halve lengthwise and slice crosswise, about 1/2 inch thick. Add the cucumbers, tomatoes and the olives to a bowl and toss to combine. Thinly slice the onion and add to the mixture. Drain the feta and dice. Add the feta and the fresh herbs and toss to combine. Drizzle with the vinegar and olive oil. Taste for seasoning.
